Re: Week 45: Rimouski, Canada [Entry List]

Vancouver is a USTA sanctioned event, hence the reason for providing Americans with WCs. Rimouski is Tennis Canada sanctioned.
Yeah, typically Rimouski gives Canadian WCs, like in 2006 they gave to Bester, Polansky and P-L Duclos.

It's a real shame that Tennis Canada organize only one male professional event at ATP/ITF level every two years in English Canada, and none west of T.O. Even a futures event would help get more Canadian men pro-level experience, and give guys like Pokrajac and Chvojka a better chance to earn some solid points. Calgary, Hamilton and Waterloo have all hosted challenger-level events for women, surely one of these sites could also be capable of hosting a men's tournament? I wonder why they aren't interested?

Re: Week 45: Rimouski, Canada [Entry List]

MD wildcards:
Philip Bester
Milan Pokrajac
Milos Raonic
Vasek Pospisil

Already expected, but great choices :D
Nice

Hopefully one or two of these guys will be able to put up a solid run, or at least get drawn each against each other so they don't all get wiped out in the first round.

Bester and Pokrajac are coming in on some decent futures form, and Pospisil and Raonic are only '90 birthdates, so they will gain some experience, neither has ever won a challenger level match.

Re: Week 45: Rimouski, Canada [Qualifying Draw]

Depite strong competition from other challengers it seems the field is a bit better than last year. Last year there even was a Bye in the main draw :tape:
