Wow. This is the lowest of the low for Don. Witten has been awful. There are absolutely no words to describe how big of a fail this is, and my disappointment in him. Looks like AO MD is going to be a pipe dream.

well I figured it would've been along shot anyways with his recent results. Nothing wrong with Qualifying anyways just has to hope he gets a good draw.

True, but he definitely should be ashamed of himself really. He should be embarrassed. Especially since he dominated the first set, that shows me that he obviously has lost the ability to actually win matches. He can't cross the finish line, and as we saw in the third set, he had his chances, and then crumbled. His mental game seems to have reverted right back to the weakness it was, probably because of Matosevic, among a few other things. I just can't believe he's been struggling so badly at his favorite time of the year, every year he does great at this time.

He can still make the AO MD, but he needs to win next week, and then hope for a few withdrawals, and some guys to slip from their rankings. He seems to perform well generally in major Qs, but this end of the season run is definitely going to damage him for an extended period, and he has a lot to defend. Hopefully Kei or Robert win this event now.

Re: Week 45: Knoxville TN, USA [Entry List]

Let's be honest. We all know Ryan H. will beat Don if they play. The ATL factor may be his saving grace. I hope he does make it automatically, but if he doesn't the AO playoff would be a nice alternative. He still should be able to beat the other youngsters and Tim, but Harrison is a cut above all of those guys.

I wouldnt be so sure of that. Their H2H is 1-1, plus Harrison's win last yr at the WC Playoffs. Yeah, he's struggling right now, but I think it's a matter of getting good draws. Everybody has bad matchups, and the last few tournaments he's gotten players who he matches up poorly against, records wise.

His H2H against Witten is 1-4, Matosevic, 0-4 or 5, whatever it is.

Kendrick is 5-5.

I also think the fact that players have seen his game for the past 3 yrs plays a part. I'm sure they talk amongst each other about what to do against certain players, and now, 3 yrs after he made his breakthrough, they all have a better idea of how to play him, as opposed to when he 1st started. Of course, you also have to be able to execute whatever plan you have, but I think the familiarity helps.

Heartbreaker. I bet it was a wild atmosphere for Williams. Too bad he could not pull it out. So UVA >Tennessee

Re: Week 45: Knoxville TN, USA [Entry List]

It's going to be a Kei v Robert final in a crucial match, that could decide the fate of top 100 for both guys. Especially Robert as he's not entered in Illinois. Winning this event would put him around 100.
