Well now the fun really begins and Gaston has to lift his game in the first of his big 4 events.

Monte Carlo is on the way and just hope he can defend his points from last year, but this won't be easy.

Well, no. It won't be easy. But our guy is on the way to recovery. Hope he doesn't stop in the middle of the road now. :)

As a Brit and a big fan of Timmy - I will keep my head low here I think  Gastón will win easily though I'm sure - Tim is carryng an injury and clay is not his best surface.

Well just hope Henman doesn't remember the 2 beatings on clay he gave Gaston and his chip and charge rubbish pisses Gaston off and it wouldn't surprise if that happened again.

We are on baby.

Fourth match on centre court Gaston is up against Henman. Just hope Tim is the toothless one this time.

Yes, good match from Gaston. For those who haven't been able to see it, I'd say it's been a solid match and Gaston still seems on the way to his former self. Congrats to Tim for breaking back when Gaston was serving for the match though. :hatoff:

Just listened to the postmatch interview. Well, Gaston said that the next match won't be easy because it's always tough to play against a friend. He insisted on the fact that he & Jose had been knowing each other since they were kids. He expects a tough match but hope he can play as good as he's played today. He also pointed out that it was the beginning of his fave part of the year, with all the upcoming events on clay. He added he'd love to play during those weeks like he did in RG 2004.....;)

Guess I should say well done Gastón, though in truth I don't really have the heart for celebrations seeing my poor Tim playing like that  He has never played so well on clay but he was still a shadow of the guy who reached RG semis in 2004 :sobbing: I think it is time for him to move on to other things in his life now

That's precisely what our commentators wanted to point out during the match. Yes, that's sad for Tim....

 Rosie. It must be a tough decision for a player though.

I'm very happy for Gaston though. :D

I was truly sorry that it had to be Henman against Gastón because I like him very much. But I differ in what a lot of you have said. Setting aside the score, I saw some great points where you could tell you were in the presence of two top players. Tim had too many UEs but he showed some beautiful shots too. I think we´ll still see him play good matches in the future, and he himself doesn´t seem to be too concerned! :D
