Re: US Open Boys F: (2)Filip Peliwo d. (13)Liam Broady 6-2 2-6 7-5
The stat for winner and ue has to be wrong as the numbers are exactly the same for ace and df for both players.

it's been like this for years.

Oh right. I see. That makes a lot of sense now.

Re: US Open Boys F: (2)Filip Peliwo d. (13)Liam Broady 6-2 2-6 7-5
Peliwo has had a great year and was my pre-tournament tip to win it. Great result for Canadian tennis and he clearly has a lot of potential. I will look out for him in the main tour in the years to come.
As for Broady - he can be very proud of his efforts. I thought he had the momentum going into the third set and was looking forward to another British winner of the Junior US Open title since Murray won it. I'm glad that things are going better for him after his reported rapprochement with the LTA. I always felt like he was caught out a bit in the middle in the argument between his father and sister on one side and the LTA on the other. It's good to see that's in the past now. He may not be the next Murray but I hope he'll have a better record at Wimbledon than Boggo has!

Del Potro was 20 I think.
But jokes aside, the last person to win a GS as a youngster who is an actual champion is...

One of the best junior years of all time, and a great way to end it.
Hoping he can win a few futures in the next year or so to get his ranking to the point where he can get directly into challengers

I know this thread is not about him, but I want to mention Nick Kyrgios in GM. Losing 6-2 3-6 4-6 in the quarters to the eventual champion is a solid showing, especially as he is over a year younger. He also beat Broady 6-2 6-3 in the final of junior Canada (event before US Open) and won doubles at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
It's so good to see a Canberra born player doing well.

haven't seen this Peliwo guy play but is he only 180 cm like his profile says? That's a concern. Maybe a new Nishikori

Peliwo gave a nice post-match interview --- level-headed, humble, dry humor, and poised. Seems like a nice kid. Sounds proud of his Polish heritage.
