Bernard begins his season in 2 days at the Hopman Cup. He will play singles matches against Tommy Haas (12/29), Novak Djokovic (1/2), Andreas Seppi (1/3) and mixed doubles with Ashleigh Barty.
Next will be the Sydney tournament before the Australian Open. After that, we know so far that he will go to Europe to play Rotterdam.
anyway, in aussie summer he will do even better than last year, we all know about it, so no need to worry about it
but yeah hopefully he can improve his results this season!!
Maybe if Bernard stopped going out so much, especially during tournaments, then he wouldn't get "sick" so often. He talks about wanting to improve his image and whatnot, but then continues to do the same things that bring about bad attention and hurt his career. That's what frustrates me the most - is that a lot of this is caused by his own doing. People say he's still young and will grow up, but I'm not too sure of that since the same issues still are present. Until I see that he's really changed (off court), then it's hard to have much expectation for him. Looking ahead, since he'll probably not be seeded for the Australian tournaments, all it takes is a bad draw and him going out R1 for his ranking to fall badly.
If Bernie's head is screwed on he will have too much game for Karlovic.
And would love to see us start getting on top of France here with a win over Simon!!!
bit of luck tbh, but he should have won the first set, he was winning his service games way more easily than karlovic, but then bad tiebreak
well done. simon´s next
Well now that he has like no points to defend it would be nice if he could get some wins to finish the year, especially before going into January with the Sydney/AO points...
Not so sure given Bernard's recent performances on hard court, plus Zhang beat Gasquet here last year. Anyway, he plays first on center court tomorrow at 12:30.
