On a big serve in a big match to win a critical break point on second serve, Sampras is your man. No doubt.
For any "random" second serve, who the hell cares. Probably Isner. But if he was serving second serve on break point in a US Open final, he'd choke on his own tongue after shitting his pants.
This statistics doesn't tell anything . Majority of these guys on the list is here because they defend the second serve best, not because of quality of the serve . Just because of quality of the serve on this list are Roddick, Isner, Arthurs and maybe Federer . 2nd serve from other guys is just comic
I remember when Monfils had a set point against Isner in the US open and Isner lobbed Monfils with his second serve. He literally jumped into the air to try to catch the serve with his backhand and came up short, at 6 feet 4.
This stats is not about serve but about rallies capacity .. but look how high are Arthurs and Isner on that list. Surely considering their weak games besides the serve, one of them has got to have the best 2nd serve of all time.
And you obviously didn't see Hewitt destroy the Sampras serve.
Get real you can't compare the bounce, the speed and the angle that Isner gets with Sampras. If the surfaces would have been as fast as the ones in the 90's Isner would probably have around 70% 2nd serves won.
