Tomic and Roanic could win slams in the future but can one of them dominte after the decline of the big 3?
Or maybe an unknown player will start dominating the sport from 2015/2016 to 2020 and be the player of the decade 2011-2020. No one knows.
The safe bet is maybe Djokovic or Nadal. They still have 3 more good years in them I think or maybe more if they stay injury free.
I must say I find it disgusting that Murray is not in the poll. I guess you could say he is basically 'other' but still. Does anyone really believe Federer is going to have a better decade than Murray?
Why people even creat polls about players on MTF? People will just vote for the player they love the most (if it's a positive question) or the player they hate the most (if it's a negative one).
Djokovic will be the player of the first half but somebody else will be the player of the second half of the decade. Probably the right answer is other since the majority of Djokovic's slams won in the first half will be at the same venue.
It's either Djokovic or Nadal. Anyone that needs to win 8 slams this decade has to start winning them in 2017 tops. Unless they get 2 CGYS in 18-19. Anyone that can possibly become dominant enough in 2017 to win 8 slams in three years is already in the radar. Coric, Garin, Quinzi will be 20/21 by then. Kyrgios will be 21/22. So all the possible candidates are currently known to MTFers.
I'd say Djokovic. He definitely has a few more slam winning years in him. He needs to win 2 more than Nadal to tie him. Nadal won't stop at 7, either. Their closest rival is Murray, who'd need to dominate for the next three years to close the gap.
Unless Dimitrov or Janowicz can pull off 9/10 slams in 6 years (they better start winning them soon), I don't see anyone else.
