If I was doing a top five of the players that always bring their best to GS events, it'd be:

1. Murray
2. Nadal
3. Ferrer
4. Djokovic
5. Tsonga

Agree?

Strong campaigning here, you're peaking at the right time :yeah:

Obviously the top players: Murray, Nadal, Djokovic and Ferrer. They're a constant definite for at least the quarter-finals, usually the semi-finals too.

1. Kubot - positive grand slam record, negative career record
2. Falla
3. Tomic - positive grand slam record, negative career record

Falla often gives higher ranked players a scare or manages to sneak into the 3rd/4th round. Kubot just has draws that open up beautifully, the luckiest. And Tomic definitely peaks for AO/Wimbledon.

Of late, Murray has had a tendency to turn up for Grand Slams and be ordinary elsewhere.

For past players, honourable mention to Arazi. 49% career record. 57% grand slam record, including 4 GS QF. R3 15 times. All despite peaking at no.22.

Are top players really counted, I mean sure, I think they give their best in Slams but I feel I also see them in Master tournaments as the usual suspects towards the end (although this year has shown top players to be a little more consistent in Slams than in Masters, I guess) so "doing their best in Slams" is just their norm, or their average might be OK towards other averages/above average performances of others IMO. I think I agree with the notion those that usually fail in smaller tournaments but usually have a much better record on Slams for some reason should be considered here.

Youzhny has a 65% winning record at GS, which is interesting. He does routine a lot of R3, and has racked up several QF/SF over the years, particularly at the US Open. Career percentage is 58%. High ranking of no.8

Verdasco similarly 66% at GS, 59% career. High ranking of no.7.

On the flipside, someone like Monaco is 43% at GS, 57% career. He did make R4 4 times. But that is underachieving for someone who has cracked the top 10, and probably a rarity among top 10 players. Even an underachiever at GS level like James Blake is almost 60% at GS level.

Marinko Matosevic has a career high ranking of no.39, yet is 0-11 at GS level. Has never won a GS main draw match.

 Ouch. Cool, I see Youzhny is truly peaking for the Slams. :yeah: Well, at least I see where does the Monaco vulture moniker came from - below average winning rate on Slams compared to career.

You are clueless but that's nothing new. Ferrer, Tsonga and Murray (except on grass) are nowhere to be seen. Here are the facts. Read and learn before you post your nonsense. It's from another tennis board and it's accurate. Yeah, it's not about current players only, but the ones who bring their best at majors are there.

Winning percentage in Grand Slam tournaments per court type. Somebody has clocked 98.33 %? Sampras ahead of Federer on grass? Djokovic already No. 2 on hard courts? Djokovic as good as Federer on clay?
Hardcourt % * W–L
1. Switzerland Roger Federer 87.66 135–19
2. Serbia Novak Djokovic 86.60 84–13
3. United States Pete Sampras 86.57 116–18
4. United States Jimmy Connors 85.90 67–11
5. Czechoslovakia/United States Ivan Lendl 85.37 105–18
6. Sweden Björn Borg 84.62 22–4
7. United States Andre Agassi 84.11 127–24
8. United States John McEnroe 83.91 73–14
9. Spain Rafael Nadal 83.52 76–15
10. Sweden Stefan Edberg 80.77 84–20
*minimum 20 wins

Clay % * W–L
1. Spain Rafael Nadal 98.33 59–1
2. Sweden Björn Borg 92.65 63–5
3. Sweden Mats Wilander 83.93 47–9
4. Brazil Gustavo Kuerten 81.82 36–8
5. United States Jim Courier 81.63 40–9
6. Czechoslovakia/United States Ivan Lendl 81.54 53–12
7. Switzerland Roger Federer 80.56 58–14
8. Serbia Novak Djokovic 80.00 36–9
9. Argentina Guillermo Vilas 79.79 75–19
10. United States Jimmy Connors 79.73 59–15
*minimum 20 wins

Grass % * W–L
1.. United States Pete Sampras 90.00 63–7
2. Switzerland Roger Federer 89.33 67–8
3. Sweden Björn Borg 88.89 56–7
4. United Kingdom Andy Murray 84.09 37–7
5. Spain Rafael Nadal 83.72 36–7
6. Germany Boris Becker 83.70 77–15
7. United States John McEnroe 83.54 66–13
8. United States Jimmy Connors 83.46 106–21
9. Serbia Novak Djokovic 82.61 38–8
10. Sweden Stefan Edberg 82.05 64-14
*minimum 20 wins

So if you exclude retired players you get Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

Federer overall for his career for sure

currently probably Djokovic

but Nadal and Federer are possibly the two best in terms of consistancy at the slams throughout their career (thus far, have to imagine this will drop for Nadal)

Murray is not even close but nice one OP haha

#39 ·
Rafael Nadal 171-23 (88.14%)

Roger Federer 260-41 (86.38%)

Novak Djokovic 158-30 (84.04%)

Andy Murray 117-29 (80.14%)

The big 3 are quite close to be honest and Murray is considerably behind the big 3.

Roger's winning % has slightly dropped off due to the bad season he had in 2013.Also,even after some early losses in Wimbledon plus 2 of the 4 slams being on HC,Rafa is still at the top which is a nice achievement for a Clay courter.

So,it would be safe to say Rafa and Fed are at the top and pretty close to each other while Nole is slightly behind and further down is Murray.
