Inspired on the "favorite all time TV show" thread.

My favorite is John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), from Lost.

Then my 2nd and 3rd favorites are characters from the same actor: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
Mr. Eko, from Lost

Adebisi, from OZ

Then my 4th favorite overall and 1st female character is also from Lost: Kate (Evangeline Lilly)

5th favorite is Merle (Michael Rooker), from The Walking Dead. It's a shame they killed him.

I was going to post here, but then i saw all your posts and i was really lost.

Its impossible for me to only put 5 people here.

I need to break this into several categories, good guys, bad guys, funny guys, then the ladies.

I can't pick 5, so instead I will give a list of my favourite characters from my favourite shows (or protagonists I love from shows I don't like as much.)

- 1st, 4th, 9th and 12th Doctors. The others are great too, but those are the absolute best; from a character POV, not necessarily for the episodes they've been in. I'm talking about Doctor Who, of course, the greatest TV series ever. Basically, the Doctor in all and any of his incarnations form a wonderful character anyone would dream of meeting, if such a thing as a Time Lord existed.
(- Some of the companions too: Ian, Barbara, Zoe, Adric, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose, Donna, Clara, among many others. And the Brigadier.)

- Dale Cooper, Audrey Horne, Leland Palmer, Lucy Moran, Bob from Twin Peaks, the 2nd best TV series of all time. Strong characters and villains all around. Bob and Leland still gives me the creeps.

- Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon in Absolutely Fabulous
(Hilarious, no words.)

- Walter White and Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad
(I could add Jesse Pinkman, but he had his bad moments.)

- Dexter

- John Watson in Sherlock
(Let me add that the American show running at the moment is an atrocity, especially when compared to the English one.
The former is an American derivative horse-poop, if you ask me. All the essence of the Holmes universe is completely shattered just to please the typical American politeness. Also, the actors and stories are infinitely better in the English show.
No contest, really.)

- David and Ruth Fischer in Six Feet Under

- Carol and Daryl in The Walking Dead
(I dislike the show more and more. Only rare moments of brilliance. But really, Carol's character is wonderfully developped and has become the most interesting aspect of the show, hands down. And Daryl, to some extent.

There's just no way I could ever pick just 5. It's as impossible as to pick top-5 movies or songs. Best I could do, is pick best characters from 4 categories (and it's pretty safe to say that I have probably forgotten many great characters that should be on this list and also I haven't yet seen many of the "classics" (like The Wire or Sopranos) yet.
