Congrats on your guy, folks!
It will be a tough affair for JMDP tomorrow, but so far, so good.
Would really like to see him take the title in Marseille after being such a nice, loveable runner-up in Rotterdam.
About tomorrow. Obviously he has to serve really well and play to Jo's backhand. Juan has to improve finishing off the short return of serves of opponents. I still think the movement is what he lacks.
Oh man, Franco Davin totally floats my boat. To be honest he's a little out of my "age range" (Juan is just the right age for me :devil, but Davin is sooooooo sexy for an "older" guy. Mmmm.......
I went out for dinner yesterday so I missed the match but I checked the stats and he seemed to get the significant breaks at the right time. I saw his serve went up and down, how was it? How do we reckon his chances against Tsonga? Has Juan been playing aggressive enough?
Yay! Quality is picking up from both guys, but especially Juan. He breaks for 3-2 and holds serve for 4-2 after serving a breakpoint with a GOAT serve.
Tsonga holds for 3-4 after being taken to deuce a couple of times. Juan to serve for 5-3 after changeover. Quality from both guys is patchy. Neither seems to play well at the same time for very long.
Well Delpo had a chance in Tsonga's service game but Tsonga held with some good serves and it's 5-4 for Juan with the break. He will serve for the set soon. Nervous time!!!
Well, Pony lost the first point 0-15 with a tame UFE FH into the net, but then he served up some GOAT serves and HUGE FH's to hold to 15 and take the first set 6-4 against Tsonga. Vamos!!
