Wow although he beat a futures player it must of been ultra relieving to just get a win goodluck in Q3, no doubt somewhere down there he has the game to beat Denis just has to find the confidence.
And his chances of qualifying also improved with Ram's withdrawal - he plays Niki in the FQR, which even on current form he's favourite in. Hopefully he pulls through...
And even more weird, Marinko does not appear to have put his name down for US Open qualies, despite easily being ranked well inside the cutoff. I wonder what gives there...especially given that Kubler is going to be there with his dodgy knees and all!
Thats a shocking result considering he just did an interview with TA where he said he feels great and wants to return to his career high top 40 ranking.
It's gonna be a long road back.. I hope he gives it another go but it will be a long slog. He maximised his potential the first time around, which shows how hard he works...
Didnt make a dent at the AO WC Playoff
Lost in Q2 at Happy Valley
Lost in Q2 at AO
Lost in Q2 at Maui challenger
His ranking will plum it to about 350-400's shortly as he has 90 points coming off in the next month, and due to his age i dont think he would want to go back to the futures circuit..
Id say retirement in 6 months time.
