I know it's just an exhibition, but terrible, terrible match from Dimitrov. Couldn've a single break point on Nishikori's serve and missed at least a dozen of easy returns. I though he had figured this out late in last season, but he still looks to has more trouble defending 135 kph lollipop's serves than the 220's ones.
Nishikori is a badminton player who relies on percentage serving and moving the other player around the court, waiting for mistakes. His strokes has no power and weight. Disgusting to lose for this guy this way, even in a exhibition match.
I'm very pessimistic for his chances on the Aussie Open after this match.
Quicker courts are actually good for Grigor (plays well at Brisbane, Stockholm, Queens, Basel, to cite some quick courts), cause he's one of the fasters players on tour, but not if he returns that bad and plays with that kind of (lack of) effort.
I hope he plays better and with more effort next week, otherwise is probably "one and gone" again.
