Andy's playing against Roger-Vasselin. He and Hewitt are last on Centre tomorrow. I think they've been postponing/taking doubles off the schedule every day b/c of rain.
He looks terrible and slow and insecure. Andy really should call it quits. He can't win one a match. I hoped he could get to 600 wins before he retire. Obviously this is not going to happen. After the Olympics will be the perfect time.
Yes, you are right. He better play Wilmbledon, Olympics and than make a final appearance at the USO. There is no point in finishing with 20 consecutive losses.
Oh my He had that one chance on the matchpoint, it was a good opening, Roger-Vasselin left a free space for Andy to pass him at the net by going BHDTL. And he sent that backhand at least few meters out.
It is sad that it has gone so far that part of me is happy with the fact that he didn't lose 0-2, but managed to make it as close as it was. When he got broken in that 1st set, I thought it is gonna be 0-2 without any doubts.
22 aces, 79% 1st serve, and still a loss. Another disappointment. I am very sad now
I wouldn't count Andy out. He looked healthy out there. He can play himself into form but he'll need some luck to go further than maybe the 3rd round of Wimbly.
I think we'll see a return to form sometime this summer and we won't see a retirement until next year. In the article Tangy posted, Andy was sorta saying it could be his last Wimbledon(as if to say anything can happen)...but not that it would be.
Well, I really like the optimistic post by Fumus, hopefully, he is right
At least Lleyton/Andy doubles team won :bigclap: Ok, it's probably just a meaningless doubles match, but it is so cool to see those two warriors from the previous decade battling it out together. I mean, I grew up watching these guys, it is just great to see them playing together. I really hope that the next match will be streamed, so I can watch them in action
It's good bc Andy needs time on court in a real match atmosphere doesn't matter if it's meaningless doubles. He's lost a ton of singles matches in a row but let's not forget the last one he won. If he's healthy which it sounds like he is, what he needs is confidence.
Only 4 ue's. His serve is looking like a normal Roddick serve. He's hitting the ball more confident now, it's so good to see again. Hope he can keep it up.
W/UE ratio was 20/4 today Andy served 7 aces, so excluding those it was 13 winners from the match.
Overall fine performance, and thanks to tennis God that he was able to convert his 8th matchpoint, otherwise it would have been a very disappointing experience. Good luck against Fognini now! And judging from how Andy tries and fires himself up, he really wants to win and is really going for it. Very nice to see.
