Re: Erasin' The Croatians in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
It's about 20 minutes south of downtown Los Angeles
US Home tie on hardcourt, not sure what the speed of it is
So it's a very nice location considering Indian Wells is right afterwards. Good preparation for that at the same time considering it's outdoor hards in a similarish climate, plus it's rather convenient.
Re: Erasin' The Croatians in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
wow, cool.... never heard this village or town or whatever it is before... okay, it didn't sound really croatian either, but I still wasn't sure...
The suffixes of Croatian cities would probably be more like like -ic, -cic, -nik, -crzerlic, -szc, -lazscakz, iclaczac or any other combination of many consecutive consonants and comparable tongue breakers

LOL!!!!!!!
Carson is just a suburb of LA - I hadn't heard of it til I moved out here, it's not a big city or anything. It's essentially LA. It's at the venue where the women's tourney in LA is (Lindsay beat Serena this year) - it's relatively new and I think it's pretty state-of-the-art as well http://www.homedepotcenter.com/venues/tennis.sps?iType=4176&icustompageid=6772
Re: Erasin' The Croatians in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
okay, that it is... I see it's much more than just a tennis location, they also play soccer, softball, baseball, cycling and things like that... Home Depot Center... home depot... sounds like a bank as a sponsor?!
Re: Erasin' The Croatians in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
Yea it's a huge complex, I drove by it a couple weeks ago on my way to my cousins' for Thanksgiving. There were rumors that the September SF against Belarus was going to be there, but obviously Charleston got it instead... I guess they're probably happy about that b/c of the way the 2005 calendar was changed and the 1st round is right before IW and Carson is quite close to there
Home Depot is like a home improvement store - you buy everything there like flooring, paint, wood, cabinets, lawnmowers, lights and light bulbs.. they're HUGE warehouse type stores. You name it, if it goes to helping your house, they carry it lol
yes, you NEED to go and so do I and Deb, and anyone else who could make the trip. I looked it up on mapquest and it would take me an hour to get to Carson, so thats not bad at all
tickets do sell out very fast for DC right? now that I have been talking to my mom about going to DC obviously our IW trip wont be able to be as expensive. But IW is every year and DC wont be back in souther California for a while so...yeah. Nice title btw
Re: Crushin' The Croats in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
lol, tangerine... ... I like the "Croats Croak" suggestion best... I know what "to croak" means, this word translates rather "lame" in German, but I'm not sure how harsh the meaning of this word really is in its original language and if it's therefore still good for a title... the "castrate" is just too offensive, this shouldn't be used IMO...
BTW, another question... what do they mean with "service animals" on the Home Depot Center homepage in Accessibility Info?

Re: Crushin' The Croats in Carson (The 2005 DC Thread)
I guess I am the only one who wouldn't really pay much to see DC action..... you know, unless it were to go to Floripa to see Brazil play......... anybody.
The netheads will probably be there and they have to be the most annoying cheering section ever. At least the Aussie cheering group... what's their name? I forget.... has clever cheers, but the netheads just shout out the number of aces and have stupid cheers that consist of chanting the players names or knock offs of tired high school cheers for football/basketball.
I'm glad Andy is playing DC and I want the U.S. squad to win. I'd pay to see Andy's matches, but there is no one else on the team I care about at all at all.
Oh Jace if you joined us that would effing :rocker2:
