I have to learn 16 French verbs for a test Thursday... Some verbs are so strange.
Example:
Code:
Mourir
[left]imparfait: [right]conditionnel/futur du passé:
je mourais je mourrais
tu mourais tu mourrais
il; elle; on mourait il; elle mourrait
nous mourions nous mourrions
vous mouriez vous mourriez
ils; elles mouraient ils; elles mourraient [/right]
[/left]
I have to study for a French placement test for December 1 so that I can go to Paris with my school next summer. I haven't taken French in over a year and a half. I couldn't believe how much I'd forgotten. I was one of the best French students in high school and I was struggling with present tense. But doing the practice tests, it's slowly coming back to me so I hope I do... j'espere.
French tenses suck
at one point I just gave up and said from that moment on vais/vas...+infinitiv for the irregular forms when I came across a futur form
it's not uncommon that foreign speakers end up being more knowledgeable than native speakers; to start with, they don't get influenced by everyday slang and grammartically incorrect language from their folks.
De ce que j'ai appris, les deux concordances de temps sont correctes mais impliquent un sens différent à la phrase :
(si)présent + futur = ce qui va se passer (futur hypothétique):
"si on joue, je serai le gentil et tu seras le méchant."
(si)présent + conditionnel = ce qui pourrait se passer (expression de l'imaginaire):
"si on joue, je serais le gentil et tu serais le méchant."
et donc, si Gillou ne gagne pas le masters, je pourrai fort bien ne pas mourir! ^_^
btw, your sig is hilarious although kind of harsh.
