Shame for JCF - his home tourney has rarely showed him much love - he's always either ill or injured or gets a bad draw.
Still, my disappointment is tempered by the fact that it's nice to see Safin beat a good player and keep fighting. He's too much fun to just allow to slink off quietly into the good night.
omg he won a match!!! Can't believe it although I hoped he could win. Whatever happens next, at least it won't be a first round exit again. Let's hope he's gonna go on with the good form-DAVAI!!!
Can one really come to a decisive conclusion out of such an ecounter? You really can't tell who's on a worse decline if Marat or Juanqui, both are among my favorites but unfortunately their games have declined progressively the past 4 years.
Past 4 years, not Safin... He got injured in 2005 clay season but carried on until Cincy where his knee final went against Ginepri...
