Default Re: Are players who are both GS champions in singles/doubles over?

not happening

net play has been killed off. grass courts no longer play like they used to, with irregular bounces and conductive to fast, attacking play

nadal and djokovic for example, are horrific volleyers, but, you play in the time/era/conditions you play in

no need for attacking the net in these baseline grindfests, especially on the slow hard courts we have nowadays

shame really, because e.g. murray has very natural and smooth volleys. he should do it more often, especially at wimbledon

but that would require a higher and consistent 1st serve %, so its not happening

Nadal is a fairly good volleyer

compared to cipolla or someone, sure

for a multi-slam winning champion, they are atrocious

but, like i said, you play in the times you play in

volleying is not needed in this era, with extremely rare exceptions (courts/players)
