No, I have no idea what the injury was. I just hope it wasn't the calf muscle that kept him out most of last year. But he's back in action, and hopefully that means he's healthy. Last year he kept trying to come back too soon. He plays Ignatik in the 1R of the Barcelona qualifying.
He drew Delbonis in the 1R, not the easiest opponent since Delbonis is a clay court specialist. If Klizan wins that match, he gets Novak in the 2R. Looks like the draw gods were not smiling on Martin this tournament.
And his reward awaits in R2, a match vs. Novak. Tough draw for Martin. If Martin were in peak form, I'd say that he has a pretty good chance against a Novak still struggling to find his form. But since Martin is on the comeback trail himself and nowhere near his best, I think his chances are pretty slim.
