Yes,yes. One thing though, all that was against HANESCU.

Folks in here still have not learned the Rome, RG lessons..Federer will always look good against those mugs. His panache obliterates those no-game journeyman even at 32..Wait for him to meet the first decent player to make him play one more ball in the court and he will dissolve into the most unsighly errorrer..Needs to see him tested first..

I'm sick and tired of this bullshit about "Roger only looks good vs mugs and he'll fold against the first decent player."

This isn't clay, it's grass.

Looked great out there.

Plus: Grass on the opening day of Wimbledon

Federer's one-two punch remains the best in the game on grass..But good returners with superior ground games like Nole, Rafa and Andy will just make him sweat it out more..From then, he will most surely get sucked in into thinking about point construction more often than not where his declining timing and movement will make him pay..the only way he gets past them is for that blazing serve holding for the entire tourney.. that has not been the case lately..

And yet, players from his generation are still filling up most of top 100. Want to see a weak era, look no further than the current one. It has absolutely jack shit except for Djokovic 1.5 and Murray. Compare that to Safin, Agassi, Nalbandian, Davydenko, Gonzalez etc etc...

Haters starting to soil their pants, NID

I don't see this kind of reaction when any other player wins easily. So Roger played a guy who couldn't hurt him and dispatched him quickly - what was he supposed to do? Purposefully struggle a little bit so we can't then all come on and say he looked great?

The thing is that he's making a habit of dominating early in a tourney and then fading late; thus there's little to be taken from his early round performances these days. Once he starts maintaining his form from beginning to end during tournaments again it will be appropriate to salivate over his early round drubbings.

Hanescu hates Wimbledon with a passion, the bagel doesn't surprise me

Routine win against an inferior opponent but he's had some early scares this year so it's good he got through this easily. Does this show that he's going to win the tournament? no, but it never hurts to have confidence and get through the motions quickly, so he doesn't get too much mileage on him before the real tests await.

A meaningless match, you can't take much from Federer's form anyway but considering it's a completely different, and much more unfavourable for him, surface in the matches that matter the only thing there is to do is win.

That's how you win against a scrub. Fed will never lose against such low opposition, unlike punchball Nadal! :superlol:

That's one of the best ownages I've ever seen on a tennis court!:worship:
