I don't think it is wishful thinking. I would rather see him win first-round matches, but I am somehow encouraged by the fact that he was able to pull together three straight wins in qualifying two weeks in a row. At the very least he should be able to do well in some challengers to get his ranking up, and it is just a matter of time before he gets out of his slump.
