I really should know better than to schedule 2 days off in a week in December. I had to go in today, on my day off, to catch up on what we got in on one of my days off. It's like I only got maybe 4 hours off this week instead of 16 hours I was scheduled for. If I hadn't gone in today to catch up, then I would be very stressed on Tuesday since I'm off on Monday for all day doctors appointments (yay for allergy testing!). It's so hard now that I do so many different jobs in one day, I just don't have time to do my main job without being interrupted. End of the year is the time when EVERYONE comes out of the woodwork to get their doctors appointments and testing done. I know, I am doing it, too. I had too much FSA money left to burn in my account, so it's use it or lose it before Jan 1.

I was just thinking about the time when we used to grab our coworkers to have blood drawn to test out new machines, like well over 10 years go. I did one test & they came back to me in a panic saying that it was a specific test for showing heart damage and I had heart damage. Well duh, I had heart surgery. Then they said, oh, that explains it. They were all freaking out about a 20something with heart damage. I miss the days we used to do that and also to be able to be tested for anything we did if we asked. It was nice since you basically have to beg some doctors to order the test you know you need since this is what we do for a living. I couldn't convince my doc last week to do the blood testing I wanted (nope, referral to specialist who will), but she did agree on the vitamin D, just a simple test that I would've paid the same for at the Wellness Festival (where you don't need a doctor's order) in Feb.

Now tomorrow I get to try to convince the allergy doc to do a certain blood test for allergens they don't do skin prick testing for PLUS the wheat, rye, barley, and oats that I cannot be pricked with anyway due to my celiac disease. I had IgA testing for a lot of these foods almost 3 years ago, but not IgE that the allergist tests for.

Had one Pringles chip left from last night. Dropped it on the floor by accident, can't decide wether to eat it or throw it away.

So, did you eat it? My pets would eat it before I could pick it up.

I need an ornament for our ornament exchange at work tomorrow. I have no money & most of my decorations are in storage & I'm not going over there to scrounge around in the dark and cold to find one. I only have 4 ornaments in my house, so someone is going to get a Taylor Swift guitar ornament that plays "Sparks Fly".

Greyhound racing has been hit with a match-fixing and doping scandal, makes you wonder if any sport is safe.

http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/f...guidelines-faq
Ok, so now I'm really confused about these guidelines. My old doctor wanted me to get a mammogram at age 30. I fired her. I have no close family history of it, there is no reason to start early. All you do is get even more radiation exposure & I've had more than my share already (I've had at least 15 chest x-rays in my life, maybe 20). I am getting a radiation monitor at work since one of the procedures I do requires me to be in the room when they are using fluoroscopy, even if I'm wearing a heavy lead apron.

I try to make as many tennis references as possible during daily conversation without people noticing. It can be a real challenge at times.

I made the mistake of looking at photos of the tumors I probably have. I will NOT look at the surgery videos until after it's all over. I have my scan in 2 weeks to find out if it is what we think it is, benign tumors. I need to know how large they are and where exactly they are. I have to take meds to shrink them over the next few months. Then we can figure out if I can do an outpatient surgery to remove them (a few days recovery) or have to stay in the hospital for at least a few days and have weeks of recovery time at home. Thanks for the faulty genes Mom! I got this from her and knew what to look for because she went through the same thing around my age, but she had the surgery that is the most invasive and required the most recovery time. Lucky for me, I live where I can go to a university hospital where they are more conservative than just slicing and dicing whole body parts out of you.

FINALLY found my laser I've been looking for months for! Have to let it charge most of the day, then do touchups on my lower legs. I can only do this after my tan fades, the laser targets dark areas (like dark hair or even freckles, those hurt when the laser touches them). Very pleased with the laser, well worth the money spent. I also have to start lasering the area where I might be getting a surgical scar since it takes months of consistently lasering to be permanent. I don't want hair to be ripped out when removing bandages. Getting the staples or stitches out hurts enough (I know from experience! almost 100 stitches & staples from heart surgery).
