Might as well create a thread for this guy. NCAA champ. Didn't lose a college match from November onwards.

He's currently in the $15k future tournament in Sacramento. He's into the semis after beating top seed and world #240 Philip Bester. Hasn't lost a set yet.

An interesting player to check out in this draw is Steve Johnson. As the 2011 NCAA tennis champion, he will receive a Wild Card and compete in the US Open. He is playing in Los Angeles this week and will meet Gilles Muller in the first round (with the winner to meet Fish). He has talent and could surprise someone at the US Open, so it might be worth checking out his form now.

Johnson has been killing people in college. Undefeated this year and ranked #2(behind Mitchell Frank, but will change soon). He's going to try and make it 4 national titles in 4 years for his Trojans then take the individual title.

Road in the NCAA individual tournament:

def Roy Kalmanovich 6-2 6-3
def Nassim Slilam 6-3 6-2
def Neal Skupski 6-3 5-5(ret)
def Alex Domijan 6-0 5-7 6-1

pretty much dominated Domijan today, had a hiccup in the 2nd set but in the end it wasn't an issue. He has Bradley Klahn tomorrow in the semifinals. He is 7-3 vs Klahn in his collegiate career.

I wonder what road Johnson will take this summer. He should definetly try to qualify for the US Open series events. He is on fire, time to strike while the iron is hot.
