Far from being a Federer fan, this sounded really mean. Revenge feelings not hidden there and wishing someone else to do the dirty job?

Strongly hope Juan works on his weaknesses and be able to "stab" Roger in the future.

Juan Martin Del Potro 27-01-09

Transcribed Interview

Q. Just tell us what happened.

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO: You have to ask Roger what happened. I can't do nothing in the match. He play like No. 1 of the world, so that's it.

Q. Were you nervous at all when you entered the court?

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO: No, I just have a bad day. He's Roger Federer. If you don't be good, you lose.

Q. What did you think happened after the first set?

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO: I don't know. I don't have a good day. I play bad, but he do very good everything.

So I lost. Just I lost the match of tennis, and that's it.

Q. Do you feel like basically there's nothing you can do out there today?

JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO: No. I cannot do nothing. He play, I don't know ‑‑ I talk to him. He play like No. 1 of the world. He has a good night. I have to improve to play against them.

Re: Juan's 09 Cheering Thread - Home.... then SAPOpen

No he tenido opción, no he hecho nada".

"Federer told me 'congratulate you on your tremendous success here' and this gave me desire to kill him", said Del Potro

It lost one of his sisters??

pobre de JuanMa, he was unable to do anything vs. Rogi in those last two sets but he's young and full of promise -- he has great respect for Rogi and will continue to do better in slams -- QFs at USO08 and AO09, not a bad start at all!

hope to see him play Montreal this summer -- it was nice to see him in Basel last year, reaching SF! ;)

I didn't know that either. I just googled it and found the following article:
http://www.elargentino.com/nota-15547-A-un-paso-de-la-gloria.html

Interesting info on Juan's personal life. Unfortunately, I don't have time to translate it now.

Among other things:

Juan's sister, Guadelupe, was killed in car accident when she was 4. Juan was 2 at the time. He prefers not to speak about it, always with tears in his eyes... None of his family speaks about it (in public, I guess...). Anyway, Juan is always thinking of Guadelupe when he enters the court to compete... he's convinced that a big part of his talent and his luck is due to that..

Thanks for the info Getta. Very sad. As a parent I can not imagine anything more painful. Even if one is not a parent how hard to bury a child.

A Davis Cup tie at home against the Netherlands is a perfect opportunity for other guys to step in. Edu Schwank, for example. Juan's personal ambitions are wrongly being called into question. Tennis is individual sport after all.

I am not surprised that Juan showed a mature ability to prioritise tasks.
