Well, it's not even worth playing that tie anymore, Kühnen made the worst team nomination EVER.

I boycott this tie.

As for Gilles, he admits in the other article (I posted it in his forum) that he can't even practice twice a day at the moment.
The sparring-partner has to be available as long as the singles and doubles players need it, for example if one of them wants an extra practice session after the regular training time - that's the job of the substitute, at least that's how Gilles himself described it a few years ago after his first selection!
He says his body is aching all over after one training session only, so Serra would be a much better sparring-partner than Gilles imo. Serra is the perfect sparring-partner, hard-worker, helpful, no big ego...

But it would be better to have a real alternate. Jérémy possibly was not aware that there wasn't even going to be any real option for the 5th player when he made his schedule a while ago.

I was expecting no fifth guy for a tie in france especially when the fourth are already decided.I think Serra would deserve the fifth spot if there was one. Why do you say PP is not playing the German team has been annonced ? Haas lost vs Gabashvili last night so is out form he can come if he wants

The German team is: Kohli, Becker, Greul and Kas, soulage.

I'm not just mad because of Petzsche, the whole German team is a complete joke apart from Kohli, Margareta. I am was cheering for Germany.

What a surprising pick, totally not what you would expect. What happened with the german captain ?

Greul Why ? i mean in indoors Greul is useless and i don't remember is good in doubles. He payed for the selection maybe ? What a joke of team for germany. Berrer is doing well, Petzchner the same and see Greul and Becker are surprising It means Kas for doubles; Well we have won the tie

Yeah no jinxes please ; Gaël in particular is known for winning matches he should lose and vice versa. The weaker his opponent is, the more nervous I am

I know but we can't say that germany do everything th win the tie. We'll see if our guys are playing well but they are helped by Kuhnen. In doubles Kas-Kolhreiber can be a good team who could give troubles to Bennet/llodra. If Kohli find his form he can be dangerous but i found the second single player whatever it will be not enough good but we'll see. Becker has some weapons but lately is not in form. It's more Greul that's i can't believe

The problem in Davis Cup is that you lose if the other team scores three points. But the good news is if you score them you're the one winning

Default Re: Davis Cup 2010: France against Germany

You were faster than me.

Je me donne encore quelques jours de réflexion. as usual !

A priori, oui.

[cut the crap Jo is not playing two singles and a double.]

[like the Czech made finals with such a big team last year...]

The guy is such a jerk. If he had eight players all in top form to chose from, he'd certainly pick the wrong ones, for whatever reason.

He thinks maintaining the suspense about who is playing and who is coming is going to make them win the tie. Why not just clearly state what will happen : Jo in singles, Mika/Bennet in doubles, and Gaël/Bennet for the remaining singles ? But no, he prefers to act all careful and alusive, like oh you know, we can choose from so many different double teams, I might even play myself with whatever guy cleaning the locker rooms and count on the surprise effect.

I mean come on, he's no Tarpishev and he never had the guts to do anything else other than what was always expected, even though he keeps pretending he might.
