..I absolutely agree! Helmut leads where others have followed...you have to look at his images within the context of the genre he worked in...some of his images can be confronting -and although they are erotic - they are not, in my opinion, - even though he has been accused of 'objectifying' women in a 'pornographic' way, THAT sexually explicit....sometimes I think it is noot the image itself that is controversial, but the eye that sees it.......anyway, art is partly supposed to spark debate....

wonder if Marat made the purchase himself,and what number he got... or whether it was a gift? can't see him picking up THAT on a trip and lugging it home in his tennis bag... I'm glad to see he also got the special display stand - that book is an investment!

I hope he can see the sky with his telescope - we will have a blue moon this month....

The book is cool, and indeed it's art, but .... it's $ 10 000! The article says he bought it himself (the telescope too). This coming from someone, who says that doesn't buy expensive things

don't think the telescope is much expensive, perhaps he has a friend on the ISS and will look at him
The book is just a kind of art (the size, limited edition etc.), and as book-lover I can understand why someone has pay 10000 bucks for it. You don't buy this every week, like some girls are doing and go to LV-store for her next handbag... 8)

I think he meant he doesn't buy expensive things daily, that he is not a guy that always has to have the latest fashion in cars, clothing, etc or that always has to go to the trendiest and most expensive places. Show off money. But I'm sure he has no problem in paying big bucks for something special that he values, be it an art book, a telescope, a wooden table carved out of a tree trunk (remember Gimestob's article?), something that will make his house more his home.

I would love to have the money to indulge my passion for books and art but... I'm not that lucky.... so why not... I mean others spend that much money for a roll at the casino....
I'm with Alya.... I mean I would do the same I would buy the best things...not many stupid things....so if you want smth special and high quality you need to spend some money.
