World No. 3 Andy Murray and 20th-ranked Tommy Haas have withdrawn from the Japan Open beginning Monday in Tokyo, the Japan Tennis Association said Thursday.

According to rankings at the end of 2008, Schuettler was not top30 player, actually he was #33. I still don't understand is he comitement player, and does this rule about atp500 tournaments can be applied on him. Can someone try to explain this please
