You are too harsh on him, I think he should win his first round here

Yes Bye is not in a good shape .

I don't know the two guys but Arno's level of play is surely the biggest problem. He's free tomorrow to watch the DC double match

We always can hope...
He loves this tournament. But we all know that's not enough (so many examples).

Bonne chance

I will translate Arno's sentences later in the day. http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/fr...-affaires.html

Depuis quelques jours, elle me laisse tranquille… »
A force, même, on s’inquiétait.

Je vais pouvoir vraiment me tester.
Nostalgie ? Clément en tunique bleue, l’image paraît loin. Il rit : « C’était l’année dernière. »

Merci soulage !
It puts me at ease (just a little bit)
I notice that arnaud often is harsh /negative, but always positive about the future.

A little traduction

He's always nice with his sunny smile and her eyes full of mischief. "I love coming here" in this Open that he has won in 2003. Since between loyal participations and Davis Cup, his bandanas has wrapped the memories of his many fans in Lorraine. But glory isn't forever eternal. Arnaud Clement like others must now contend with a body of thirty which has done so much campaigns and endless matches.
"For several weeks I have a sore elbow. In recent days she leaves me alone ... So I'm quite happy to go back on the court and no longer feeling pain. Since Roland Garros it was go back and forth ... And in those circumstances I hadn't the pleasure to play. "
At force we even got worried. This colorful character of the circuit would he leave the limelight? "No, it is not scheduled. As long as I have the desire and as I am able I will stay on the tour. The day I see that I haven't the level I stop. My retirement in any case is an actual reality ! If of course I lose my health everything can go fast but in 2010 I intend to return to be fit. "
"I need matches"
2009 bad year? Almost. With a closer look however Arnaud Clement cuts its season into two parts: "Until May, it was not too bad without being sensational. Some good matches. Then it was a little tougher ... May he afford and offer us an end of season thundering:" It's time that I needed for getting started. Open de Moselle is timely. I'm going to really test myself. The match is something else than training. The qualies suit me perfectly. I need matches "that doesn't seem obvious with this level who continues to grow.
"Between #120 and #80 there is not a great difference. But I'm happy to go to play blows Arno watching on television the match of Davis Cup of Jo Tsonga. Nostalgia? Clement with blue tunic the image appears far away. He laughs: "That was last year. "

that's right it was only last year. what difference a year makes! dropped out of top 100, out of davis cup... and more likely than not, it may be permanent this time.

yet he seems forever hopeful. well he has an injury to blame upon, and not the 'head problem' that we think he has.

(thanks soulage )

It is always good to have something to blame upon

Merci Soulage, the interview is indeed very positive and hopeful! (though I'd rather wait till tomorrow's match to get a proof of his words; his opponent is Sitak)

Default Re: Indoor Season 2009 Autumn Version

In an other local newspaper. I will translate later but they make a mistake on his double partner but give more details on the injury and Arno has no big single hope here .

Default Re: Indoor Season 2009 Autumn Version

Arno struggles a lot on his service game. He has not the rythm of course and at the moment Sitak will hold his serves it will be tough to stay in that match . A kind of translation of the article.

Open Metz: "Above all, find my game"
Often injured, now far away in the world rankings Arnaud Clement arrives in Metz with one goal: refound a correct tennis.
METZ._ loyalty personified. Since he put in his pocket the first Open de Moselle in 2003 Arnaud Clement has not missed a single edition of the tournament in Lorraine. There was no reason he can not answer the call of Julien Boutter except that this time he must pass through the "qualifies". In a morose season marred by several physical problems "la clé" now points to a very modest 136th place in the ATP.
His record in 2009? on major: one of 32 final at the Australian Open and Roland Garros, a first round at Wimbledon (lost to Del Porto, anyway ...) and a loss in the U.S. Open qualies.
At 31 year-old the former world N10 (April 2001) doesn't loose the piece. Yesterday between a glance at the Netherlands - France Davis Cup and "District 9" in the cinema with his pal Nicolas Mahut he admitted that at the moment he thought only one thing: finding a correct level and finish on a better note this season very dull.
- Arnaud firstly a point on your health ...
- Simply everything is fine now! The tendinitis in my elbow long time trailed is just a bad memory and I don't feel no more the blocking back that forced me to withdraw from double in the U.S. Open. Now that I'm OK, I hope to be quiet on that way.
- You return to familiar ground in Metz ...
- Here I have my bearings and many good memories. I won singles but also three times in doubles (Editor's note: with Nicolas Mahut in 2004 and with Michael Llodra in 2007 and 2008). On this court I even won a Davis Cup tie so I'm always happy to play here. Now I must play well!
- At what clinches you when you fall in ranking?
- I like tennis that's all! Recently I had a lot of physical troubles which made me lose my game it was an overall decrease of my level of tennis but I don't give up.
- To return to the Open de Moselle you're set specific goals?
- Not in terms of results. I first want to find good feelings. I don't know my opponent (Editor's note: Russian Sitak, he faces today) but I focus only on my performance. And then I also align myself in double with Nicolas (Editor's note: Mahut) and that really count into my heart. But really my goal here as indeed for the rest of the season is getting better in terms of play and grow in ranking of course.

I think he seems sincere. I like that.
He won his first match today against SITAK . He'll play Ascione tomorrow. He beat him in february in final of Cherbourg tounament. But it's far !

I follow the beggining on scoreboard and it was awful on serve i though that it could go at least in 3 sets but Sitak is surely more bad than i thought lol. Ascione is more regular since few weeks and everything should depend of serve again.

A pic of the toss on http://latourcamoufle.hautetfort.com/ you've also the summary of the match. We can see that he has something on his arm. I hope it's for prevention.

Why does he say he's playing doubles with Mahut, but is in the draw with Llodra as the #1 seed?
Mahut is in the wildcard team with Ouanna.

Default Re: Indoor Season 2009 Autumn Version

A lot of things this morning.

I think it's a mistake of the journalist about doubles, she did the same this morning An extract of the article in EstRepublicain about qualies.

Quote:
He says that there is a lot of things to improve but for him it was a correct come back. Physically it was good, he thinks it's going better on serve and he adds that when you lost your last 7 matches it's good to set off again

And in RepublicainLorrain
Quote:
It sounds less positiv and he says that each time he beats Ascione he was in a very good shape which is not the case here and he stress all the negativ points of his game : serve which was average, irrigular forehand. Things are different in each paper lol

In Republicain Lorrain again a kind of Portrait Chinois . The translation later but you must know he loves the Sushis. http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/fr...es-sushis.html

• Ton prochain billet d’avion ?
« Question que je devrai bientôt me poser. »

And a pic coming from RepublicainLorrain
