and he even advertize it. I guess next time the umpire will have to go to both of them and drag them to the court.

Re: Qué Será, Será - Buena suerte a Madrid Roger
A question for anyone (everyone)~:
When someone wins a Master's Series event don't they usually get that beautiful glass/crystal trophy as well as the local trophy..??(In this case an ord'oerve tray)..
And to infinityfed: What is the meaning of the *58* in that picture of Roger in your signature?

In the larger scheme of things, Roger's stalling didn't affect Nadal in Madrid and it sure as hell will not affect him in RG. I think Roger knows that but he felt better about doing it so it was something positive for Roger.

I personally didn't see the waiting and the coin toss, but I read some posters saying that Nadal looked a little confused when Roger made him wait.

Re: Qué Será, Será - Buena suerte a Madrid Roger
Wilander mentioned a few years ago that Federer let Nadal get to him with his idiosyncrasies. He said that if Federer really wanted to win RG, he would have to try to get at Nadal. McEnroe said basically the same things during the RG telecasts.
At this point, Roger might be willing to try anything. During their head-to-head meetings, Federer simply waits politely for Nadal to serve, waits at the net for the toss, waits 10 seconds between 1st and 2nd serve. and so on. A simple disruption of patterns might do something to Nadal, but it's highly unlikely.
Everyone is in love with his tactics yesterday, and there were certainly some that he executed better than he usually does i.e. the bh dtl, but for the most part, he won because he was able to play well on the BP's and Nadal wasn't. He attempted to shorten the points at last year's RG, but was missing, and it resulted in a massacre. Everyone thought his strategy was awful then.
A lot of their previous matches might have turned out differently if Nadal missed shots on BP or BP down, or if Federer came up with good shots. If he had missed on his two BP chances, or even his first one, THIS match might have turned out differently. Just like in Rome '06, Federer was able to get out to a lot of leads on his service games i.e. 30-0, 30-15 and gain confidence from that. I'm not sure he'll be able to do that at a possible RG encounter. He's never been able to get out to leads on his service games at RG against Nadal.

Re: Qué Será, Será - Buena suerte a Madrid Roger
I keep hearing about how Nadal was tired or didn’t get much sleep before the match. I’m glad Roger pretty much called it out as nonsense in his presser. Go back to Rome 2006 where Nadal had easy QF and SF matches and Roger had two matches that lasted well over 2 hours. That final lasted 5 hours. Did anyone comment at the time that Nadal beat Roger because Roger was tired? If Nadal is such a machine how is it that he’s pooped after an hour and a half whereas Roger – who is 5 years older than him – was able to battle it out for 5 hours after playing for 5+ hours the previous two days?

Re: Qué Será, Será - Buena suerte a Madrid Roger
Better late than never but to all Fed fans here. What a great victory for Roger. Have to confess that I didn't watch hardly any of the match as I got caught up with watching Mr/Mrs Agassi + Tim/Kim at Wimbledon. Seeing 4 people having such fun on a court was difficult to tear myself away from esp as I felt like a lot of others here ... Roger wouldn't pull out the win. So I've yet to sit down + watch the match (think I might just be in for a treat ).
I did see Roger sitting patiently in his chair, waiting for Nadal to finish his fiddling about so that he was first up for the coin toss. Good for him ... how often have I raged at the TV screen over Nadal's delaying tactics before a match, dictating pace before it even starts.
It could get to the stage where they spend so long waiting for other to get up, the match never starts

But if they don't do sqaut when Roddick calls them a "f*cking asshole" I guess I shouldn't be suprised they let Nadal abuse the time limit between points.
