Re: PYW Management 2009 - April to June tournaments available
I can't fully manage any tournament, but as long as the managers agree I like to update scores when I have time, just willing to help

sexysova got pissed when we users tried to post matches scores and also when she/he talked about including challengers and futures points into ranking.
hellas i don't know but as far as i know there is nothing "bad" from him, like from sexysova

Re: PYW Management 2009 - April to June tournaments available
Guys, I'm starting to think the challengers should be the winner of 8 games. The 'vote agains' are starting usually after 12/13 votes, so a match hardly ends at 10 without the 'vote again'. I think that with 8 games the results wouldn't be affected and we wouldn't end the tournaments so late (last week tournaments ended today, which means tuesday night!). ATP's and futures scorings look ok though.
What do you guys think?

I have always been supportive of 8 games for challenger. I agree with your point Caio, let's see what other people think

Re: PYW Management 2009 - April to June tournaments available
*sigh* First of all, we can't jump straight into 8 games without better advertising. I say we need to spice this game up. Sorry to say this, but PYW is just kind of dull. Its just vote for your fave player and thats it. We need to advertise PYW more and spice it up. Any ideas?
Also, we could do short sets like they do in some junior tourneys if raining. Ex. 4-0 = 6-0; 4-3, 6-5; 5-3= 7-5; 4-4= 5-5; 4-2= 6-3

Re: PYW Management 2009 - April to June tournaments available
I don't think it's dull, I like voting for each round and checking the champions at the end of the week amd that's how the game works. What we can do to make it more interesting is posting some stats at the start of eavch tournament (like: PYW stars this week - player A champion at tournaments X, Y and Z). When I update the stats next week we will have all this info pretty easy.

Re: PYW Management 2009 - April to June tournaments available
I will also try to create a newsletter which would come at the end of each week. I would post it here at the PYW forum and send a PM with it to the active voters. It would include the champions of the week, stats, curious matches etc. This way we can attract some ATP-only voters to challengers/futures. I'm kinda busy during the week so it would be better if the tournaments ended on Sunday, but that's something we can work out with the time

and it has always been like this from 5 years, in the other tennis forums I have reason to believe that PYW score works the same way.
good ideas btw caio. I have also thought about making draw more interesing (e.g. similar to ATP real one) or post player pictures or face, to the "users" to have more "touch" with the players.
btw, we are rulling so much at dtt

I have thought of some way to "force" matches to follow schedule (two days for 1R, two for 2R, one for QF, one for SF and one for final). But I'm not with the time I wanna have during the week to be here in MTF and check how the game is doing so either we think about another way we can use to make tournament ends on right schedule or somebody else steps up to help us to do this
