altho, if Murray woulda won today i wouldnt be complaining so thats life.

I think you just like complaining.
But joke aside, sports is *essentially* about triumph over adversity, so you could argue that an athlete is really always fighting against the entire situation he's in, not just in the glass bell of the rules described by the game he plays.
Maybe we as fans see it more superficially then we should, everyone likes tennis to be "pure", but it's a real thing happening in a real world, it can't remain unaffected. They get what they get and they need to learn how to deal with it, just like everyone else.
But the match was crap, yessir.

Freaking Nalbandian made me so infuriated. He should have won Indian Wells, made the H2H 3-0 and make Mugboar his pigeon in the future. But he just had to choke and let the one-dimensional, muggy moonballer win.

it's refreshing to have someone other than Rogi lose to TFA in a TMS final for a change... esp the "British No 1" who is a LIHOM...

Re: **** The 2009 Indian Wells Cheering Thread ****
ok, now look at this poll, http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/tennis/ . This is it,.. this is why he still feels that pressure that we all expect him to win,.. coz its not like,,.ok now he's #2 , now he can lose... every single poll about winning IW, and this1 now,.. it's all about roger,.. its still as he is no.1 ( for me he rly still is),.. and if he was #10 and there was a poll,.. we'd all vote for roger to win.. I think he feels even bigger pressure coz now we dont all expect him to win while he is winning like what happened past few years,..but we all expect him to win,. when it's much tougher now,..
Still,.. I think we are so so spoiled , but i can't help it,.. I know he'll get that crown once again!!! (voted for yes)

Re: **** The 2009 Indian Wells Cheering Thread ****
One comment on the Murray/Nadal match: the wind took away Murray's only real advantage i.e. the first serve. At the USO, Murray was able to win some easy points off of the 1st serve. He was spinning them in and started the rallies at neutral which is impossible against Nadal unless you're Nalbandian.
Of course, Nadal might have won anyway, but I don't think Murray is going to put too much into this one loss.
