Re: The chat-thread for lovers of other sports - Everyone welcome
Good luck to everyone today - ICT, Norwich, Man U, Ireland, England and Ellen's team (Lorengren or something?) United need it. They're already 1-0 down and Paul Scholes was sent off

Re: The chat-thread for lovers of other sports - Everyone welcome
oh well, if there's a beautiful stadium where United can lose it's the Cottage,(innocent) I went there when I was living in Mayfair, to the Cottage, Highbuty, The Valley and Brisbane Road.
Norwich trails 1-0 at Birmingham, HT!
Cavendish won the Milan-San Remo! stunning performance!
fearsome racing! Armstrong disappointng!
I guess ICT is Inverness C.T.

Woops! I don't know anything about rugby though. Is it still going on?

Re: The chat-thread for lovers of other sports - Everyone welcome
Scotland aren't getting beaten as badly as I expected!!! So far anyway
I'm more concerned by the score in Falkirk! And our keeper's just been sent off The commentators aren't even sure why! And they've just scored from the resulting penalty 3-0
Tough question about the greatest Scottish sportsman, imo Andy Murray's probably going to be in with a shout by the end of his career. Archie Gemmill caused widespread partying across Scotland at the WC in Argentina in 78 but you could name loads of footballers and managers who would all have merit - Jock Stein, Jimmy Johnstone, Alex ferguson, Kenny Dalgleish. Chris Hoy is Scotland's greatest ever Olympian with his four golds over 2 Games. But as a nation we seem to be better at pub games, so we've loads of good snooker players and darts players too
FT Falkirk 4 Caley Thistle 0

I told you we're a small and modest club We don't need a big stadium...

Ellen, I LOVE modest clubs and small stadiums!
wish you will enjoy the match at the pub!
good luck to KSC Lokeren!
(Rooney needs some anger management, also sent off, Fulham wins 2-0)

Unfortunately we're not KSC Lokeren anymore Our president bought a team from the city next to Lokeren to get together with us, so the name had to be changed. We're now called Sporting Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen, like you see in the logo. We had another (more beautiful) logo before too. Every real Lokeren fan is still mad because of this change

Re: The chat-thread for lovers of other sports - Everyone welcome
Isabelle good for you! Big isn't always better!
Our stadium's max capacity is 7200 odd, and it's full for about a dozen fixtures a season. One side is terracing which we're not allowed to use which makes me mad as I would much rather stand with my mates and get the crack rather than sit far away from them and get no crack
Our stadium being built

As it is now

South Stand
It's 21-12 in the rugby. We're not getting humped!

Re: The chat-thread for lovers of other sports - Everyone welcome
Manchester United 0-2 Fulham Rooney got sent off for throwing the ball at the ref apparently. I didn't see it Sounds like your afternoon is as good as mine then Les Erm ... allow me to throw forward another name for greatest Scottish sportsman Les ... Sir Matt Busby. He opened the door for English clubs into Europe, re-built Man U from the ashes of Munich, won the CL 10 years after Munich and was the first to show faith in 'kids'. He definitely has to be in the mix. In fairness, though, Sir Alex has got to be right up there. You can't argue with what he's achieved in football so he'd be my pick tbh. Perhaps if Andy wins a few grand slams he could rival him but not just yet. In time though who knows?
