Yes, at least that's how I pronounce it.
(I wanted to answer "yes" in Vietnamese, but I don't even know how to say that, it's annoying there is no simple word for "yes" and "no" in that language!)

Yep, and it's a beautiful name in Vietnamese, it means "truthful" (or "bamboo", depending on the accents, but "my" Truc means "truthful").

Quote:

http://www.welovetennis.fr/coupe-dav...es-potes-a-100

Forget says it was his toughest decision ever (not sure it's true ) since Gaël is coming from a final, not injured and he will stay on the bench. It's tough, he deserved as much as Gilles to play in singles.
Gaël has probably been a bit affected because he really wants to play DC. But he told Forget he will support his friends at 100%.
Gilles and Jo have been continuously improving in training since the beginning of the week. The surface is a bit special, Gaël isn't used to it as well as the others. Forget thought Gilles and Jo have a better chance to win those matches.

Jo says they will try to win their matches now so Gaël gets a chance to play the next tie and maybe it will be the opposite then and he will cheer for Gaël from the bench:
Quote:
- On pense bien sûr à Gaël (Monfils), votre ami.

If they lose because Jo or Gillou are too tired on sunday or because of the doubles, I'll personally kick Forget in the ***

It seems Gaël really had trouble adjusting to the surface (L'Equipe writes today that Gilles was teasing him in training - "it's not Acapulco anymore here!") The journalist who saw the guys in training really sounds fine with the decision.
My only concern is Gilles' form. Forget had to decide between Gilles and Gaël. If Gilles still struggles, I mean he could have tried Gaël as a "wildcard trump" with his big serve. But that's not Forget's style to gamble like that. And Gilles seems to be playing better again.

Gaël practiced a lot yesterday, strangely enough Forget & Roux used the time slot reserved for the French team to practice with Gaël in the morning (the others felt ready and didn't want to play) and Gaël asked Roux during the draw ceremony to go practicing again. A way to avoid a bitter moment for him and also for Roux&Forget to show Gaël they don't ignore him even if he won't play this time.

The journalist in L'Equipe also pokes fun at Forget for his overdramatic tone when he was asked about Gaël yesterday ("un véritable déchirement", etc.) I had the same reaction yesterday, we all knew he was going to kick Gaël out of the team, but he made it sound like a Cornelian tragedy. I know he did it with good intentions, but it was funny. He seems a bit afraid to hurt Gaël - we know since 2007 at the latest he can have "visceral" reactions on this DC issue.

The shots of Gaël cheering in the stands have been a highlight of this tie so far! He's looking awesome, he's outshining the whole French bench. And his sad face when Gilles lost was so cute.

Exactly Fran! And he was chatting and joking with Forget when Jo was warming up, so definitely no hard feelings between them. I'm relieved, I was a bit afraid after the dinner pics.

Sorry, I meant the pics of the dinner day, the ones where they were outside. Gaël was looking so grumpy. No I didn't see any dinner pics ever, maybe they'll surface later

I asked on the FFT website, they answered there aren't any pics of the dinner because there were no photographers.

In L'Equipe today:
Quote:
The Monfils clan insists Forget was informed about the Acapulco move and agreed with it without making too much fuss. They could have done a deal: if Gaël lost early in Acapulco, he would join the others in Ostrava; if he made it far, he would be "exempt" from the Davis Cup for this time and could stay in America to get ready for IW (that's what I've been thinking since the beginning!) But all the unspoken things between them and the lack of clear messages ended up in a tangle which harmed everybody. The moral of the story: the communication between Forget and some of his players really needs to be more straightforward.
