A good draw compared to the other frenchies. I'd love to see him beat Del Potro

So would I, although I wouldn't mind seeing Jürgen take care of the Argentinian ball machine before he goes that far.

But I'm very "Mauresmo style" with draws, one match at a time.
Isner first would be nice, I know Gaël already took his revenge for the defeat in Washington 2007, but I need a half-dozen of wins in a row to really make up for it.

The only player Gaël has been able to beat so far in Indian Wells is Jeff Morrison (but he did it twice ):

Hopefully he has a better run at IW this year than previous years At least he's got a nice draw, which is a nice start!

Allez Gael

He even managed to get bagelled by Jeff Morrison in one of his two wins.
Is there anything about Indian Wells which bothers him? I can't remember him mentioning anything special about this tournament.
I remember the heartbreaking loss to Benneteau in 2007, he really should have won that one. He was leading 5-2 in the 3rd, had tons of MP and lost 5-7, it was horrible.

He always says Miami is his favourite tournament abroad.
But maybe Indian Wells too, he loves the States.

I thought I'd put in an appearance as I post in Gilles, Richie's Jo's and Paulo's forum and think it's a bit mean that I don't post in Gael's (well some people may be relieved that I don't )as I am really starting to like him.
Lots of luck for IW Gael and please don't fall over (he always does whenever I watch his matches!)

Tess and Marion's hard job to promote Gaël in Richard's forum is starting to bear fruit!
Gaël helped too and showed himself from his best side this week-end, he was a joy to watch in Ostrava.

His doubles draw:
Lukasz Kubot (POL)/Oliver Marach (AUT) VS Gael Monfils (FRA)/Mischa Zverev (GER)
No idea why he's playing with Zverev, I'm waiting for Mischa to give an explanation in his blog, but he hasn't mentioned Gaël yet.

It's in German:
http://www.abendblatt.de/daten/2009/01/01/1000678.html
He's been writing every day since the beginning of the year. It's really just his daily life on the tour, I doubt it's very interesting for the readers of the "Hamburger Abendblatt", but for tennis nuts like us it's not bad to get an impression of the life on the tour. He's obsessed with his prize money, he says at the end of each week how much he has earned, how much he needs to deduct for the hotel, etc.
He seems to care about his doubles results too, he comments on them quite a lot, I'm not sure about his choice of a partner in Indian Wells...

Thanks! A Cornelian choice again, it's really not easy to have all my faves doing well.

Mardy is in the list too.
