Well done Jo! Although he lost, I admired once again his incredible fighting spirit, taking the match to a 3rd set tie-breaker after practically being down and out at 3-5.
Davydenko was always going to be a tricky customer - he plays well against big servers and power players because he feeds off their pace, as opposed to generating his own power. He's also extremely solid at the baseline and in this match, he showed another dimension to his game by attacking frequently at the net. I was also surprised at the impressive accuracy of his serves - to think that last year at this time, he forgot how to serve!
All in all, Jo did a great job to hang in there, and crucially to take a set off him. He still has a chance of making it through to the semi-final, so good luck against both Del Potro and Djokovic.
