i didnt know about Gambill, but it should be nice, i want first openly gay tennis player definitelly... someone should to come out first....

I think he did make the comment though, if I'm not mistaken, that he's honored to have so many gay fans.
That's enough for me to  him, because most sports stars don't want to even acknowledge that gay people exist. Oh well. |

He did say that, and he is. He's is not completely naive and oblivious, he also works in fashion/modelling, he has gay friends, he's living in Southern California right now, etc etc. He recently did a test photo shoot and he wanted to gauge reaction to the shots (his first in a few years) so he and the photographer agreed to quietly release them to a few gay blogs/magazines. Guess he thought women are too fickle.
Anyway, based on my personal experience of the men in my life and the men in my government (you know, all those Republican congressmen ), I wouldn't be surprised if half the ATP is gay or bi.

I wouldn't, either. It would be nice to have some major sportsmen who were "out," but only to dispel the many stereotypes about "gay men."
I'm not one of those people under some delusion that if they were actually gay I would have more of a chance with them than I do if they were straight. That percentage pretty much remains at 0.  |
