??? Blake had to beat him to have a chance, and if Fed had beat Blake, Tsonga would have had to beat him so Fed losing has helped them both! I dont understand your point

Here mate. Blake doesn't get points from a WO, so if he loses tomorrow, he'll get QF points, not SF points (in the race). If Federer played a point and retired, Blake would already be qualified or much closer to it, I think.

Then Tsonga making the final, beating Davydenko, let's say, and he and Blake would make it.

I didn't check this scenario, but someone can do it for me.

It's not anyone's fault he has to grasp at straws and rely on Fed to get into TMC.

Amazing logic. But by your reasoning, any player that makes it is "relying on" the people that defeated their competitors. It changes nothing that it happened for Gilles in the last event.
