"Tsonga to play at Heineken Stars" (exhibition tournament, September 19-20)
http://vietnamnews.vnagency.com.vn/s...um=01NAT110908

So Dominguez probably meant Bangkok instead of Tokyo, I was wondering why he was talking only about Tokyo although Jo has entered Bangkok the week before.

I can try to translate it later if nobody else does - sorry, there has been way too much stuff to post and translate lately about Gilles and Gaël. I already translated the parts about them in their forums, they also talk a little bit about Jo since it's about them as a group too.

There is another little article on that topic on lequipe.fr today, I think it's pretty easy to understand with a machine translation?
http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...u-jeu_Dev.html
They all stress the positive impact of this "competition" between them. Jo doesn't like the comparison with the Musketeers too much, it's another generation and he wishes people would find another nickname for them. "I don't know... The Galactics? (he laughs)"

(I just saw there will be a last series of Questions & Answers for 2009 on Jo's website, btw, if you have questions you want to ask him.)

By the way, the Galactics is a reference to Chelsea FC. I think Tsonga is a big fan of the Blues and Drogba in particular.

Thanks for explaining all the football references! Enough with them, Jo, I never get what you're saying.
I knew for Richard, but I had no idea Jo is a big football fan?

He seems to be in this interview when he compares him and the three others with actual or ex football players...

The Galactics was not the name gived to Real Madrid when Zidane, Beckam, Figo played there no ? There was some pages on Jo in VSD but I didn't buy it http://www.vsd.fr/contenu-editorial/...ne/en-kiosque/

Not tempted by the interview of Jean-Pierre Foucault's daughter, soulage?

An interview of Jo in Le Parisien today, it's his fault for the whole fuss around Richard's SMS in Salem:
Quote:

Default Re: News & articles

He doesn't think about the AO final anymore, but more about Bangkok. In the semi and the final of Bangkok, he had the same thrilling sensations as in Melbourne and this is the best thing which can happen to a tennis player. "You can strike the ball as hard as you want, you won't miss!"
The Tsongamania: he can't go to the MacDo anymore, to the swimming-pool, he has to think well about every place he wants to go to. It seems to bother him a lot. He feels well only at home in Switzerland, at his parents' place, when he goes fishing...
It's important to him to have been picked as French number 1 for 2008 by the FFT. He means he deserves it.
He always plays with the idea that his career might be short. He's not built like a tennis player, more like a rugbyman. He's wondering how long he will be able to play like that, with all the movements right-left-right, the sudden stops... He's mentally prepared for an intense, but short career.
It was really hard for him when the knee problems started. He had been a bit struggling during the North-American AMS and was hoping for the DC to give him a new boost. He was like crazy when he had to watch the DC tie on TV and when Paulo had MP against Blake. He was harassing Richard with SMS and was horrified when he saw all the fuss around it!
He left RG in tears when he had to pull out and didn't watch the tournament at all, except a little part of Gaël's semi. He was crushed because he thought he was going to do something really big in Wimbledon.
The goals for 2009: to win a Masters Series, maybe a Slam. He wants to stay at least in the top 15, possibly higher. And the DC, they are a nice group, with different personalities, it might be fun.
