Default Re: "Mandatory" 0 Points on optionals?

I was wondering why Nadal didn't get a 0 for withdrawing from Stuttgart at the last minute.

He went there and did press. I think he also cited a knee injury. You can withdrawal at the last minute without penalty if you have an acceptable excuse. In the case of Murray in Indianapolis, he withdrew late and basically said he felt like taking a break after Wimb, which isn't a legitimate excuse.

Default Re: 2008 Updated ATP Rankings Thread(Rafa No 1 on Aug 18 )

This was discussed earlier in the thread as well and someone said that Murray's 0 points for Indy weren't due to him withdrawing late but because it was the second optional tournament this year were he had withdrawn when you're only allowed one so since Nadal's withdraw from Stuttgart was the first time he withdrew this year I think, he didn't get a penalty.

We have a rankings thread, please use that.

The answer is Yes.

What are the race points breakdown for the Olympics. Is it 80 for winning?

Why are they giving 5 points for a first round loss - I thought all non-mandatories don't get any?
