Default Two Questions

currently use a babolat Aeropro with cortex. My old racket was the Head Liquid Metal (the blue/gray one, not the black).
I have't been truly satisfied with my shots with the Aeropro. So I took my Head racket to the courts today instead of my Babolat. My partner, whose has been playing for a while (longer than I have), told me when I was upgrading to get a heavier racket.

However today, I felt like I had more control over my shots with my old racket. I also use a one hand backhand, and felt that the lighter weight (especially in the head) made the shot easier. I also enjoyed the smaller grip.

Theres really no way Im going to buy another racket anytime soon because my Babolat is only about 9 months old. However, I do want to know if theres any way to make my Babolat racket more like my Head one, including string tensions and stringing patterns and what not. I think I hit marginally harder on my Babolat as well.

If I can't do anything with it, Id also like some suggestions on a new racket. I guess im looking for more power, since I have much better control on a lighter racket.

And if im too cheap to buy, I guess I just restring my Head and throw on an overgrip.

Default Re: Two Questions

most dampeners can just be inserted into the string bed after being strung.

your current racket is a smaller headsize and heavier than your older racket, and is therefore a more controlled racket. if you want your current one to play more similarly to your older one, you could add some weight at the tip of the racket to alter the balance and make it the same as your old frame. or you could string it up looser
