I think he likes to play on hard courts, but he choked somehow in the second set when he didn´t managed to pull a good first service percentage. He was like 66% to drop to 48% only.
In the third he din´t offered resistance and got help from the medics.
No problem, he will try to play on Toronto masters next.
hey..i was there for that match. thomaz looks like a very tall version of djokovic, from the back anyway. he's very fit; these boys have great bodies. he beasted the first set 6/1 but i figured that verdasco coming off from a win in croatia was suffering from jetlag or something. bellucci just kept missing shots, landing halfway in net or really way out. too bad.
guess we have to hope that Cincy courts aren't that fast
Unfortunately they are semi-fast. Faster than toronto appears to be. Plus although I have always enjoyed the tournament the heat and humidity are killer and must effect how the ball flies as well. Low bounces so topspin isn't quite as deadly on the surface.
Good luck to him though. It will be tough if Karlovic's serve is on.
Will you be there? Maybe you could give a report about the match, in case you watch it
Unfortunately not this year. Went in 2005 and 2007. Might go in 2009 so as you can see it is the odd year out I hated the weather though. The heat is devastating. Can't imagine how the players deal with it.
