While I'll never be able to understand the birth-giving issues, I was told last year to expect back-problems throughout my life.... so we're even then

indeed. If men only knew....
But sadly, back problems come along with the whole deal too. Try carrying around a 25-lb 2-year old...and a growing belly. Since I only started out at 100-lbs myself (yep, I'm a bean pole)...the extra 40-50lb I'll be toting at the end of my pregnancy represent a significant load (esp as a percent of body weight). What happens to your insides while you're pregnant is all at once weird, painful...and amazing. There's a reason pregnant women...waddle.
I did play competitively until just two weeks ago (6+ mon along) and I can honestly say there were only a few shots that I felt like I should/could have gotten to had I not been in my, ah, condition. But I can't complain with the results. My oh-so-understanding partner and I won 6-0, 6-2 at #1 doubles. Gotta like that. I can only thank my partner, team captain and doctor...for letting me play. Only two weeks gone...and I'm already missing it. *sigh* Thank goodness Wimbldon starts next week and then on to the American hard court season. The USO will finish up just before my due date.

I hope you are going to impart your tennis prowess on the children

That's a dicey issue with us, I suppose. Hubs and I are hesitant to impart
our hobbies on our kids. Certainly, they'll be exposed to it (my lil girl likes to watch tennis in person and on TV

) but we won't be pushing them into it.
But I'd love to play in a mother-daughter tourney at some point. Too bad I'll be a Super Senior by then.
Glad to hear things seem to be progressing for you! Good luck in that upcoming match.
