 Agree with every word.

Wish you a good tournament! And I'm already looking forward to your pictures (and hopefully reports!)

A weird thing indeed. I've seen once that when a seeded player withdrew on Saturday/Sunday they simply replaced him with another guy who was initially in the entry list but didn't play the quallies, then changed the draw a bit and added the 9th seeded player I think there were some changes in the rules considering Lucky Losers.
Anyway I suppose it's only fine for Arnaud... As for the doubles, yeah, Arnaud & Flo are an interesting combination. Hope they won't lose against Verkerk lol

He isn't Karlovic but his serve is efficient on grass for sure. Anyway, at that time, it will probably be tough for Arnaud
They play tomorrow on court 3 (around 13:00)

Every match is tough for Arnaud. On every surfaces...
But his worse adversary is..himself

Re: Grass season 2008
i'm not surprised he gets a tough opponent for a qualifier. if he had to enter qualies instead, he might not have qualified! lol
i can see two first round exits in a row good luck anyway. hope he runs into kezzi!

Re: Grass season 2008
So extraordinary news this win
6-3 / 3-6 / 6-4
He made a quite good first set, the crucial moment was on his serve at 2-2, he saved 3 break balls. Arnaud broke at 4-3 on his only break ball of the first set. Then he held his serve to win the set.
He got a tough moment at the beginning of second set. Becker led 4-0 but Arnaud came back to 4-2 and 5-3 but it was not enought. He started too late this set.
In the third, Arnaud made the break at 5-4 on the only break ball (for both) of this set.
Becker is only 10 aces for 8 double faults and 51% 1st serve much easy for Arnaud who broke 3 times Becker.

His SECOND win like that this year I think he might have been inspired with his new ranking
Soulage, thanks for the details, looks like he's got a high percentage of converted break points - so I guess everything was alright with the mental part of his game this time.
Next round is against a typical claycourter Granollers.

I'm very tired now, so I'll report about my weekend tomorrow
But to answer the important question: He's not
Steph (posts on mtf, some of you might know her) asked him and he said almost literally: "I'm not playing well at the moment, but I am not thinking about retiring" with a big smile on his face.

now that's what i'd call a lucky break.... don't tell me that he may win two matches in a row now

don't know, if he keeps getting the same question, he just has to start thinking about it! it's also a great way of suggesting to him, that he hasn't been playing well and we're not happy

Re: Grass season 2008
Today, in double, arnaud and florent Serra gained 6/4 7/6(7)
2 victories into simple and double in 2 matches….It's well for confidence

On Wednesday Arnaud will take on Granollers in the morning and then Canas/Del Potro later in the day.

Re: Grass season 2008
 ok, this is good! A Clement (FRA) d M Granollers (ESP) 67(8) 63 63
There is also this result: J Del Potro (ARG) d R Schuettler (GER) 76(3) 76(5), so Arnaud will play Del Potro in singles, too!
Hope he can make it two for two today!
