Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!
Guga is getting spanked by Ljubicic
I love to see him fighting in his last matches, but I can imagine the physical pain he has to feel every time ...
I wanted to give you an update on me!
First of all, I found love, which is an awesome feeling and I'm just so happy these days ! I remember asking you guys some tips a few years back when I had a blind date with this girl lolll, and also the disaster I lived with my ex-best friend, whom I have now totally lost contact because of what happened between us... But now I'm just sooo happy !!!
Another big thing in my life is my upcoming trip with my best friend Olivier!! On May 23rd we leave for London, we'll stay a few days there (my brother lives downtown so we have a cheap and very well placed apartment to stay lolll)! After that, we take the plane for Moscow, which has always been my dream (Russia, and I'm currently learning Russian), we stay there for about 4-5 days, and we go by train to St-Petersburg for another 5 days! After that we leave Russia and will go to Berlin by plane, and we finish our 3-weeks trip in Poland (Auschwitz-Krakow), I will be back in Quebec City on June 14th . I just can't wait! I will unfortunately miss all of Roland Garros (at least I'm pretty sure they'll talk a lot about it in Europe hehe), and that means I'll miss Guga's last career match , I really hope he can do something there ! Fingers crossed
I'm also in my third year of civil engineering, and I'm on vacations in 4 days already ! I have a lot of exams till then, wish me good luck
Cya soon, I love you all

I watched part of 2nd set of Guga's match (and probably will see the whole match later today when TTC showed the matches again) and it's really painful to watch.

Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!
I have a pretty good idea of how the match went unfortunately, I'm quite sure Guga wasn't able to touch Ivan's serves, even second serves ... His hip is so unstable, I read in his Miami interview that he sometimes has to "replace" it before serving, have you ever heard abous something like that
He shouldn't play Barcelona really, but I guess for his fans in Barcelona it's very sweet of him, they'll have the chance to see him for a last time I hope they do something special for him in RG, I'm sure there's gonna be a ceremony and a gift for him

Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!
Honestly, I really don't want to watch another match on clay. I think his movement is even more limited on clay than on hard court.
The match ended in less than an hour on clay so you can imagine how it went. As someone suggested in GM, Ivan really didn't go for much for the 3 service games that Guga won. The first one being at 5-0 in 1st set.

Guga is not going to play at Barcelona, he has an injury in his adductor of the left leg
he might play Roland Garros, it's not serious it seems, just a week off

Yuck Seb! I hate dentists keep asking their patients to remove their wisdom teeth when it's not really necessary.

4 at once!!! you brave brave man! i took mine out one at a time! normal extraction, not surgery. taken out two so far. other two haven't grown out
and yeah, krakow's quite a party town from what I've heard from the friends I made on my exchange trip 2 years ago, party party party. but Auschwitz should be "terrible". I went to S21 once (the "prison" in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime) that was terrible as well. The experience was so sobering

Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!
Guga plays against 19th seed Paul-Henri Mathieu at Roland Garros 2008 first round.
Vamos
"it'll be nice to face a French here (Paris) and also a high ranked player like him. It's hard for me, I watch at the trainings with the guys who are 80-90 in the ranking, I'm still below their level and always have to play as much I can 9in the limit), against Mathieu it will be a tough match"
"However, it will make the match more interesting(...) facing Mathieu, even being hard, will be a motivation and inspiration. And let's see how will the crowd act, if they cheer on me, then it will be a miracle"
