Re: Cliff Drysdale & Mal Washington, our commentators...Oy Vey
Mal is so irratating. He talks so much that he doesn't realize what he is saying most the time. During the Roddick/Keifer match, he said that Roddick did not play as much tennis last summer because he did not make it to the second week of Wimby. I know Cliffy had to be holding back because(as PMac would say), "HELLO" - he made it to the semis, that is the second week. And actually it is only a day or so less than making it to the finals.

Mal's stupidity is reaching new levels. At least Cliff is there to correct his mistakes but seriously. The comment about Andy not making the second week of Wimby just made me

For all of Mal's mistakes, I actually prefer him to PMac, whom I find insufferable. Because of his role as DC captain, I can't help but think his comments about his team members (and those who might be team members some day) must be biased. Is he ever going to say something that might annoy a team member he needs to be a successful captain?

Playing a seniors event in Portugal, apparently.
Round robin results Wednesday from the ATP senior tour event in Portugal were Richard Krajicek d. Mikael Pernfors, Emilio Sanchez d. Mats Wilander, Jim Courier d. Henri Leconte, and Michael Stich d. Joao Cunha Silva in three. Today's matches feature Cunha Silva vs. Pernfors, Leconte vs. E.Sanchez, Wilander vs. Courier in a first-time meeting between former No. 1s, and Stich vs. Krajicek.

They will probably be excellent athletes, but personally, I think that the expectations that will be placed on these kids will be so unrealistically high that it would be best for them to choose any sport but tennis. When your parents are both multiple grand slam winners (and at least one, and probably two, Hall of Famers), anything less than that for you would be viewed as underachieving.

You have a point there. I can't imagine the expectations from the tennis world that would be placed on them. On Steffi's SportsCentury they said that when their son Jaz was two he hit the ball over the net from the baseline. I just see one of them being outstanding, talent-wise and mentally(if anything like Steffi).
