I wonder if they'll have the hawkeye installed? Would be the first big tennis event with that technology, since we only have clay tournaments left.

Because it's booked almost the entire year with other events, so it's impossible to get it for one whole week for Davis Cup in the short amount of time which was available.

Carpet yes, but not grass because the lawn would not have been ready until then without knowing it earlier.

Well, they had more time than that, since it would have been a huge surprise, had Germany lost against Korea.
Of course, they couldn't be 100% sure.

Yes, if you see from this angle, then yes. I just read an comment of Ralf Weber who said it would not have been possible in that given time. But anyways, why are we even talking about indoor grass? It would be much too slippery and maybe the cost play a bigger role than we are thinking.

There are challengers in indoor grass. Can't be that expensive.

Re: World Group Quarterfinal: Spain at Germany (April 11-13, 2008)
Any news about who will play? For us in Germany that seems to be a hot topic. Some days ago it seemed we would have problems to find a second singles player besides Kohlschreiber. But now Tommy Haas is doing very well in Indian Wells. Petzschner will probably play doubles again. Boris Becker recommended Mischa Zverev...

It wouldn't make any sense to install a system which costs thousands of Euros and which is used only 3 days...So I expect there won't be any hawkeye. Bad for Tommy

If that were the case, then nobody would install it. But as we know, it was already used in DC ties last year.
But since Tennis is still dead in Germany, I don't expect them to install it here.

Oh okay, if it was used it DC-ties, then it would be me who does not know anything about it! Sorry!
However, I think you're right when you say you don't expect a hawk-eye being installed in Bremen.

Oh I wonder when the final list of players will be annouced, as well for Germany, as well for Spain. I am going to DC, have a pretty good seat, but I will cheer for Spain... hopefully that's allright with all the German ppl in there.

I saw my tickets today for the first time. I'll be travelling with my Spanish colleague to Bremen for the entire weekend, can't wait.
Hopefully it will go to a 3rd day, Germany should have the edge in the doubles if Kohlmann and Waske are healthy.

Indoor carpet is better against Nadal than grass.
You want grass when you're up against Russia.

Kohlmann and Waske won't play, you don't know that? Kohlmann will have his comeback at BMW Open in Munich and Waske wanted to play 2 challengers before DC but he couldn't due to his injured arm.
I suppose that Kohlschreiber will play 2 single matches and Kiefer/Petzschner the double match. I definitey hope that Tommy recovers for the DC and will play the other 2 single matches.
Well, on April 1st we will see whom Kühnen nominates...

Re: World Group Quarterfinal: Spain at Germany (April 11-13, 2008)
Kas is also an option, I guess.
I'll also be there. Could have gotten first row tickets, but opted for the third row (TV View), since I don't know if there'll be anything in the way. Doesn't make that much of a difference, anyways.
Hoping for a full house and great matches.
