Meint ihr, ob Kühnen diese Empfehlung mit in seine Bewertung nimmt?

Fürs Einzel ist Kohlschreiber klar. Haas ist nach seinem Auftritt in Indian Wells wohl auch klar. Fürs Doppel sehe ich keinen Grund, Philipp Petzschner den Stuhl vor die Tür zu setzen, also ist der wohl auch klar. Bleibt die Frage: Wer wird Spieler vier? Ein reiner Ersatzmann oder einer, der mit Petzschner das Doppel spielt? Als Ersatzleute fürs Einzel kämen Kiefer und Zverev in Frage. Die könnten beide auch Doppel spielen. Dass Kiefers Doppel-Resultate auf der Tour so mies sind, liegt meines Erachtens daran, dass er es nicht ernsthaft betreibt (Immerhin hat er Olympia-Silber). Die anderen Möglichkeit wäre Christopher Kas. Der wäre fürs Doppel erste Wahl, käme aber fürs Einzel überhaupt nicht in Frage. Gerade weil man nicht ganz ausschießen kann, dass Haas wieder Verletzungsprobleme bekommt, bin ich für die Sicherheitsvariante mit Kiefer oder Zverev. Prizipiell dürfte Kiefer noch der bessere Spieler sein. Seine letzten Ergebnisse waren aber ja nicht so dolle. Deshalb hielte ich auch Zverev für eine vertretbare Wahl. Und weil Kühnen ja bekanntlich mit Kiwi seine Probleme hat, könnte es sein, dass er Boris' Rat folgt.

since everyone else keeps losing Haas is a good option.... but you cannot take two "only" doubles players because it is not sure if Tommy's shoulder will stay healthy... so it might be better to choose a singles player to play doubles with Petzschner... just in case!! Or let Tommy play doubles???

If Waske doesn't get fit for the tie, then Kuehnen really should think about nominating Kiefer.
Today, Haas withdrew again and we really don't want Petzschner being forced to play singles on Sunday again, right?

Would be better than Zverev or Mayer and I would love to watch it. Only Kiefer or a doubles player like Waske is an option for me. How Becker can ask for Zverev is unreal.

Waske is a hero if it comes to Davis Cup but come on... this guy didn't play any matches for 6 months and he is just comming back today. Can he collect enough matchtime to be fit for Davis Cup??? Kühnen didn't nominate Kiwi because of fitness last time... he would make a fool out of himself to take Waske now... even Tommy is a risk. Ok he was good in Indian Wells but can he keep this level for some time now?? Tommy has often problems on Davis Cup sundays. Against Thailand, against Belgium and against Russia. If he is in the team we should have a 3rd singles player for sure
