Jamie Murray has criticised his brother Andy for pulling out of this weekend's Davis Cup tie in Argentina.
British number one Andy Murray, 20, withdrew last week, citing recurring knee problems for the decision.
But Jamie said: "It was a shock to me and for the team, very disappointing - I was not aware he had a problem.
"It's disappointing he chose not to come and it kind of affects the way we feel about him. If he wanted to really push himself he could have come here."
Andy Murray said he was advised not to play on clay in Argentina after playing on hard courts in Australia and before playing on indoor surfaces.
But Jamie believes his brother is being overly cautious in deciding to sit out Great Britain's crucial World Group meeting in Buenos Aires.
He added: "From what I have been reading he hasn't come out and said he's injured, it's more a prevention thing.
"He obviously felt it was more important for him to concentrate on going to Marseille and doing well than coming here.
"From his point of view, I guess he doesn't have anything to apologise for as he's taken the decision not to come.
"If he had come here, he would have caused them problems because he has the ability to win singles matches, he's a world-class player.
"He's been in the top 10 and not by fluke. I think he would have liked to come here and had the crowd against him, he plays better in those circumstances."
Alex Bogdanovic, Jamie Baker and Ross Hutchins complete the British line-up against an Argentina side comprising David Nalbandian, Agustin Calleri, Jose Acasuso and Sebastian Prieto.
Jamie looks in desperate need of a hug judging by the interview just show on the BBC. He looks so down in the dumps, little bro has a lot to answer for
Jamie and Max Mirnyi are the No.2 seeds at Delray beach, and they’ll take on Garcia-Lopez/Serra in the first round. A win raises the possibility of a meeting with his Davis Cup doubles partner Ross Hutchins, who’s playing Delray alongside Victor Hanescu.
Jamie would have arrived in Florida in the early hours - his plane was due to take off at 1am last night.
Thanks Ros!! This place is dead I thought it would be a little more lively after Jamie B's win yesterday. We seem to talk more about the boys on WTA than here.
I know - bizarre isn't it!!! There's more people cooing over Jamie in Nole's forum on the JJ Appreciation thread there (in fact he has... ummm quite a few people who thinks he's super-cute!!!) than right here.
Mind you - I'm feeling a little guilty about not having posted here more during the DC cup run... and when you add in certain people's kvetching (thanks redsonja... that is SOOOO my word of the moment) about appreciating Jamie in JJ's forum, it's such a shame.
BUT - I'll try and do a lot more to ensure that what info I post in WTAW, I replicate here too - see if we can't drum up a little business for Jamie!
It might get better once his webby comes out... can't wait!!!

Karo, that would be amazing!! I love Jamie, though I'v never had the chance to meet him (Met Judy though!! Sort of! Couldn't talk to her, I was working at the time! Don't think VIPs like being bugged by the waiting staff ) But anyway, yes, Jamie is lovely. He seems so friendly and happy and smiley all the time (though not recently ) I hope he and Max can do well in this tournament to boost his spirits. And his ranking! I really hope this partnership works out.
my photos are from the training on tuesday and the press conference wednesday .
yet i don't have the saturdays pictures , because this day touches to my partner. when i has them, I return to put here these photos.
someone know which is his next tournament, if casually he continue here in Buenos Aires and has thought to come to the Copa Telmex.
Tomorrow is his birthday, right?
