L'Equipe
He was asked about the famous list of 20 suspect matches (rigged bets),
"Probably the 20 matches I won this year ! " lol

That's funny, at least he is able to laugh about it
It's scary that players get those offers, I can imagine that some would go for it when they have financial problems, like Arnaud said.
Stupid gamblers, why can't they just do virtual betting, like we do here?

As Marine has already said, he was just asked a question and he's replied and that's all. It's a big issue these days so no wonder he wanted to give his opinion on this subject, moreover it has happened to him, too.
May also add that if he really wanted "faire parler de lui" he would at least have a normal website or was more "public" in general.

Good note
As for the main topic, I've seen a similar article here, and voila one more quote:
(Arnaud)
As I got it, he says that everyone happens to throw a match. When everything goes wrong and you're having a bad day - it may force you to give up. Arnaud admits that every year he has a couple (oh yes lol) of matches like that. So it's just like that and it shouldn't mean a person was offered money. If a player wishes to tank a match he's able to do it the way no one will notice anything. True, isn't it?

you know what, this quip should be very funny, unless when the stat is true... so he only won 20 matches this year???? that's like one match per tournament on average... ok i suppose that's close
as for arnaud's admission that he has been 'touched' by match fixing... well i guess it's his turn finally, everyone is putting his two cent in these days.
what, he admits he tanks a couple of matches a year? only??
btw arnaud, tanking is also a crime in this sport, even if everyone does it sometimes

Re: paris: will this thread go beyond 1 page?
here's a link to a report on an australian newspaper:
http://www.smh.com.au/news/tennis/i-...618884224.html
not that arnaud appears on my local paper every day... so intentional or not, his story is indeed creating publicity...

You're lucky, at least he appears once in a while, I can't remember even seeing a result in my local newspaper

Yes, not a so much impressing number if so. With his great results in doubles the singles scores somehow went out of sight. In general it was "moyen quoi" as Arnaud rated it himself.

Well, I've seen sounds of this story even in an Argentina's ( ) newspaper. Also it was written there about Micka's reaction that he also got such an offer 4 years ago and that he thinks it's really difficult to do anything with it because there are too powerful people behind all of this.
Now after having seen so many mentions of "St. Petersburg" concerning to the tennis topic I start thinking this is a kind of a campaign to attract attention to our tournament... lol

come to think of it... are you sure arnaud didn't mean YOU when he referred to someone who asked him to lose? or was it me, if i'd rather watch him in sydney instead of adelaide, you know, that sort of scenario
with all this witch hunt going on, every one starts to look suspicious. and being russian or chinese, make us look so much more 'mafia'-like too
another thought... if it isn't supposed to be so dangerous, maybe we should send you to investigate your tournament

Re: paris: will this thread go beyond 1 page?
This isn't the place to put this, but I do so anyway. This topic isn't over 1 page in my account yet
When you look at the atp website, there's a red 'qualified' next to Arnaud/Mika in the doubles race ranking
If you guys did see it already: sorry for double posting, I'm just happy it's really for sure now
