Dont even mention him. They cannot give Cañas an award because of his ethics.. You know he was on drugs and all those things.
Kiwi deserve it

lowest position Canas had this year was No 142 and he is No 12 now. Kiwi was out of the ranking and is No 64 today...

I think it's impossible to give the comeback award to a player who came back from a doping ban. At least I hope it is impossible.

I fear Canas could have good reasons because he beat Federer twice.

OMG, 2nd match after 8pm? A bit crazy IMO to give him virtually the lastest possible 1st round match, but okay let's hope he didn't leave his good form behind him in Madrid, then he should be all right no matter when it is going to be played.

I expected him to play on Court 2, but after taking a look at the schedule for Court 2, I can understand, why. Only Del Potro could come close in terms of popularity among the local crowd. On the other hand, one could argue, that only unknown players have to play on the court at such a late hour, which could put Kiefer behind said Court 2 players.

I assume Kiwi will be asked to turn off the light and leave the key in the letterbox when he is finished lol
well, he did very well at the nightsessions last week. Let's hope it will be the same this week

Re: The European Swing... GOOOO KIWI!! Make it back to top 100
6:1, 6:1. 94% (17/18) points won, when the first serve was in. 73% (11/15) for the 2nd serve. He converted 5 bps out of 12. Well, let's stop here. With such a result, stats are pretty much meaningless. Kiefer was simply better in every aspect of the game.
Next up is Koubek, tomorrow at 4:30 pm on Court 2.
Too bad that the match, which we'll be able to see on TV, will be the one he'll lose. Friday, 5:45 pm on CC against Federer, if all goes as planned.

6:3, 6:2 against Koubek.
Another easy win. Impressive. 67% first serves in and he faced no bp on his own serve.
Good luck against Federer.

Very good win it seemed!
He is currently quite reliable to beat opponents that would be really beatable without a scare.
Too bad it's Federer already tomorrow
