Ward went on to lose 46 63 63 to Vemic. A respectable result for Ward as Vemic is a very experienced player currently 239 in the world.

All Brits are out of qualifying and its not even the final round yet.

This was the first time I ever watched him play and I was very impressed. He can hit the ball so hard off both wings and his serve is big too. I don't think grass will ever be a good surface for him but on hard courts and possibly clay, he should be very strong. I really see no reason why he can't make the top 100.

For the most part I thought James was the better player but Vemic's extra experience was the difference. He kept hitting slices and dropshots all the time and it really put James off his rhythm. Every time he had a BP in the last two sets, Vemic would serve and volley and there was nothing he could do because he was returning from so far back.

It was just a little inexperience that cost him the match but give him time and he should make better decisions in situations like these.

Top 100 is a difficult place to reach. For now you just need him to get to top 300 and challenger tour level.

saw Ward at Queens qualies. Was pleased. He's developing well. Gave me the resolve to finally ignore Jazar.

depends on what "making it" means. I think we have different definitions anyway. I doubt anyone but Federer has ever "made it" in your mind

plenty of players have made it. ward will not join them. he will never be better than the current crop of british journeymen

hehe James Ward lost to Riccardo Ghedin 75 62 in 1st round of GB F11 tournament.

Ward goes back to Spain and makes semis at F33.

Up to around 630's! What I like about Jazar's thinking is that he said Ward never beats higher ranked players! He bt two higher ranked players this week and now there will be less players ranked ahead of him!

Hoping for top 500 by year end!

Ward is now ranked 585 with 34 points from 10 tournaments and has another futures semi to go on on Monday which hopefully will push him into the top 550!

Yet less players ranked above him.

LTA have taken him under their wing to their National Training Centre
